The movie was made in black and white to help enable the production budget to go further. The film was made by a bunch of friends in their early twenties, with a self-raised budget of about £40k. Working in B&W allowed the limited budget to be used more efficiently, and was also a playful nod to the early Ealing Comedy film that inspired the work.
