Unfortunately her exposure to powder drugs (the details are left for the imagination) and to a lifestyle which is commonplace with Schenectady NY has left this Glam-Girl "High" and then most definitely "Dry" The movie captivates the solitude of addiction within the Human Experience and enthralls viewers to empathize with the main character.
But, ultimately it is DeRuve's insight into human nature that he leads us to realize that this act can only lead towards one end: suffering. The struggles and strife are evident and are almost surprising to the viewer; we feel uncomfortable: this is not glamorous.
