The title is a reference to a novel by Elmore Leonard, whose story, "Fire in the Hole" inspired this series and who serves as an executive producer. Like this series, the novel is also a crime story set in Kentucky.
Dickie and Coover Bennett are played by Jeremy Davies and Brad William Henke who both appeared in Lost (2004).
