Le Tango (1905)

*** (out of 4)

Fun film from Alice Guy has a woman doing the tango while a small group of people watches her. At just two-minutes there's obviously nothing here that's going to change or life or make you forget Al Pacino's now legendary tango in SCENT OF A WOMAN but if you're a fan of these older movies then you're going to want to check this one out. The actual dance itself is performed pretty well by the woman but the main attraction here is the hand tinted coloring. This period from Guy featured a lot of these colored films and it's really amazing at how well and professional they look even at this early stage. If you've never seen this type of coloring then you're certainly going to be impressed by what's on display here.
