In the runup to this years World Cup, I saw that FIFA was putting out a lot of historical films, including several feature-length movies about previous World Cups. I watched several and was pretty disappointed until this one. Sure, the early Cups were not covered by many - not to mention any QUALITY - cameras, so I wasn't surprised at the shortage of actual match footage. However, sometimes the editing was lousy - cutting to a play midway in progress and then cutting elsewhere as soon as the ball went in/out, denying you any sense of context. The 1994 team devoted almost half the playing time to indigenous tribes and other non-football fare. Worst of all were those which didn't follow the order of play - sometimes showcasing a team in later rounds, only to show the same team later in an earlier round!
This one did a good job at avoiding the above faults, the picture quality was excellent, and the focus on individual players/teams was enlightening.
