During the last few minutes of the show the character John Reilly is shown in Laura's video cleaving what looks like a rear leg joint at the knee with a cleaver with his left hand, leading to the plot twist of the murderer being right handed. As they rewind the video to observe John cutting with his left hand you can clearly see that the joint he chops at pulls apart when he grabs it with his right hand before he ever "strikes" it with the cleaver.
When talking about the dog at the crime scene being similar to hers, Dr. Warner says in her line of work it's nice to have something alive to come home to. However it has been mentioned previously that she has a husband and school age daughter.
