Some interest...

This show gives some useful insight into the lives of various settled families in different cultures around the world. You get to see how functional families work and how their rule systems provide a stable framework for a harmonious family life.

The kids are all dysfunctional, mostly from divorced families in the UK, uncontrollable, psychotic, spoilt, etc.

Usually, the kids have some life realisations during their week in a new environment and get some insight and improvement in their lives before returning home to the UK.

Unfortunately, the format of the show is a bit repetitive and each episode gets predictable; each show has the same elements, the host families are equally nice, the kids equally psychotic...

Not very good.

Warning: Spoilers
This is just a show with spoiled teenagers with parents that are more reasonable than strict. But called "strict". Plus it always expects you to have empathy for the spoiled teens in every episode.

This doesn't help for them

Just because your kid's atrocious behavior doesn't mean you have to send them to a strict institution or household as a comeuppance. It's the parents own problem that there kid is behaving that way, they need counseling and show them the consequences of their wrongdoings
