Gaby is bemoaning her overworked stay-at-home mom life with demanding kids, husband, and housework, especially now that Anna's gone. Then Celia arrives in the kitchen covered in chicken pox. When Carlos hears Gaby's never had them he tells her to skedaddle.
She does gladly and ends up in what feels like heaven, Lee and Bob's house where she happily settles into Cosmos, naps, and R-rated movies. After a night of clubbing with Bob and Lee and friends, Bob decides to throw her a party. She's thrilled. As they settle into their nightcap they hear an answering machine message from Carlos saying the girls are no longer contagious. Gaby calls and claims she has a stomach virus so she can eke out one more night.
During her party the next night, Juanita calls but Gaby can't hear her over the fabulousness. She stumbles into a closed bedroom and it's Lee and Bob's nursery. Bob comes in and tells her they're trying to adopt. She wonders why. Bob says they've always wanted a baby and already had one false start where the mother changed her mind. She consoles him. He says she may envy them, but they envy her too. So she packs her bags and goes home.
Katherine has a sexy dream about Robin that involves the ex-stripper showing up for breakfast in a robe and bra and panties. Just as she's about to unsnap Robin's bra she wakes up. Robin walks in, more covered up and asks what Katherine wants for breakfast.
Katherine tells her therapist about the dream. He says it's pretty straightforward. She says she's not a lesbian and women her age don't wake up with homosexual identities. He says it doesn't matter, she's too fragile in her early recovery to be entertaining any relationship and that she should asks Robin to move out.
Robin comes home with good news: a new job. She spills champagne on Katherine's blouse that she borrowed. She starts to take it off and when she gets to her bra Katherine blurts out that Robin has to move out. Robin is hurt. Katherine says it's complicated. She says Robin hasn't done anything wrong and she likes her very much, in fact, she likes her too much and she has feelings for her that she doesn't understand and she's confused. Robin says she's having those feelings too and that she should go. Katherine sighs and looks around her big house. She walks upstairs, into Robin's room, and shuts the door.
Lynette and Tom argue over a name for the new baby. He wants Patricia, she wants Polly, to honor an aunt. Penny arrives wondering where her birthday pancakes are. Tom and Lynette try to cover but Penny realizes they forgot her birthday. Penny stalks off mad.
Later they try to make it up with decorations and dinner and helium voices and cake. Except the cake has the wrong name on it: Polly. Penny stalks off mad.
The next day Lynette worries when Penny is not on the bus home. One of her classmates hands her a note saying Penny has run away. Tom and Lynette go to the police. They explain about forgetting her birthday. The female detective is disgusted. But as they're sitting there, they get the call that Penny is fine, she tried to use their credit card to check into hotel.
Lynette goes to the hotel to get her and gets the silent treatment. She apologizes. It turns out what Penny is really upset about is her jealousy about the baby. Lynette points out that they'll soon have a female majority in the house: control of the remote, toilet seat, and take out. They giggle on the bed. Penny apologizes. Lynette lets them spend the night and order hot fudge sundaes "just us girls."
Andrew has hired a good-looking but moronic assistant for Bree named Tad. Among recent screw-ups he ordered 100 flower arrangements for an event instead 10. Bree wants to fire him but Andrew argues that since Bree put him in charge she needs to let him make and learn from his mistakes.
The next day Bree is on the phone threatening the florist when a man named Sam Alan arrives. It turns out he's a big fan who wants to work for her doing anything and everything. She tries to brush him off. He gives credentials that include a stint as a sous chef and recent business school graduation. He wants to learn her business from the ground up and then help her expand it because he likes her traditional values. She's flattered but also fully staffed. On his way out he informs her that if she wants to solve her flower problem she should donate the extras to a hospital and write it off as a charitable donation.
She hires him which infuriates Andrew, who thinks he should've been consulted, and claims he has everything under control. She points out she says she can hire who she wants. As they enter the test kitchen, still arguing Sam is there. He wants to cut their losses and fire Tad. Andrew is mad. Sam figures out Andrew is sleeping with Tad. Bree tries to go the disappointment route since Andrew's living with Alex, but he points out that she's a cheater too. She says she's firing Tad and can, in fact, fire anyone she wants. Andrew realizes Sam is a threat.
The next day Sam continues his "All About Eve" routine noting that children in family businesses often have a sense of entitlement and she can either continue to coddle Andrew or cut the apron strings and hope he thrives on his own. He then tells her to go get some sleep and grabs Andrew's World's Greatest Son mug and pours his coffee.
Mike and Susan are over at Karen and Roy's for brunch. Roy is excited because he gets to use salt when guests are over. Susan says they bicker cutely like an old married couple and asks Roy if he's considered making Karen an "honest woman." Roy says he figured she didn't care. She does. With Mike's help he gets down on one knee and asks. She says yes. She and Susan high five.
Later, Susan arrives to Roy and Karen's with pictures of perfect bouquet in a bridal magazine. Karen is in the bathroom and Roy lets Susan know he's mad at her for ruining their good thing. Susan is, predictably, confused. He's afraid he might cheat since he will want what he can't have. She says he's 80. He says it doesn't matter, being married will make him want to kiss some other women before he dies. Susan says he can't. Then he kisses her. He likes it. Her, not so much.
She goes and tells Mike who, predictably, laughs. She wants to take it far too seriously. Mike says she's the one who made him feel trapped by forcing his hand. She admits to making a mistake and wants to tell Karen. Mike doesn't want to let her. He says all married men have second thoughts before getting married. She stares him down.
Susan goes to visit Karen, who is in tears. The doctor thinks she might have lung cancer. As she leaves she bumps into Roy who says cancer picked a fight with the wrong broad. Susan wonders if it's a good time to get married. Roy says darn tooting it is. He knows what he said about losing independence but now he realizes the worst thing he could lose is Karen.
Angie comes into the kitchen with a note from Danny saying he went camping with Eddie. She's mad but Nick thinks it's okay, healthy even. He figures Danny's better off hiking with Eddie than alone in his room with a bottle of pills and that he's 19 and needs a normal life. Angie says he'll never have a normal life, none of them will.
The Bolens grocery shop and Angie sees Eddie. He caves under not much pressure explains that Danny went looking for Anna in New York City. Angie freaks, worried that he'll go to the old neighborhood. Nick says Patrick won't find him. Angie says he did last time.
Over the closing montage Mary Alice tells us about the art of seduction as Bob and Lee beckon Gaby to a drink on their porch but she opts to take the groceries in; Sam hands Bree just the folder she needs; and Katherine wakes up in Robin's bed and Mary Alice wonders if it's seduction when it's possibly what someone wanted all along.
