Elliot calls his family back in England and says that he knows it's late there. It is late evening where they are in Detroit, which would make it early morning in the UK.
Cyrus says they can't bring the cost of materials for the Pika down any further, even saying that they're at the minimum level of paint. The Pika prototype features a strange body design where the exterior shell covers half of the rear door windows. Interior shots of the car show a full window but covered by largely the exterior shell. If they eliminated that design quirk they could at least save the cost of several square feet of metal per car.
