Andrew McCarthy reached out to Judd Nelson to join The Brat Pack reunion but Nelson "politely declined".
McCarthy said none of the actors liked the term Brat Pack at first - who wants to be called a "brat" and part of a "pack"? After writing his book about his career in the '80s, he took a 180-degree turn and began to embrace it. So he decided to do the documentary to find out what his fellow actors thought after all these years.
When Andrew McCarthy asked Molly Ringwald to be in the documentary, she said she would think about it but would probably like to continue moving forward. There are clips of her from movies but otherwise she doesn't appear.
On 6 April 2018, Molly Ringwald wrote a very long essay entitled "What About The Breakfast Club?". In it, she wrote a lot about her feelings and opinions of John Hughes and his movies. She wrote about being his muse and how he respected her ideas and opinions, and how the movies could be interpreted differently today than in the '80s and a whole lot more.
Molly Ringwald hated the pink prom dress she had to wear in Pretty in Pink. She even cried a lot about it. The movie was going to end with Duckie and Andie ending up together but the premiere audience booed. When she found out they had to re-film the ending, she hoped she would wear a different prom dress but it remained the same.
