Understand the meaning of Title

Anwar Says: Sonyliv has developed trend of producing Originals on the Indian Scams and here is Whistleblower on the 2013 Vyapum Scam in Madhyapradesh . Definitely not as well researched as Scam , 1992 but surely enlighten the headlines of impersonators caught in the scam .

The protagonist Sanket played by Bandish Bandit fame, Ritwik Bhaumik is as adequate as the show. Requisite skills and good intentions are evident but sub- standard dialogue could not make the character as strong as of Pratik Gandhi in Scam, 1992. The pick of the show is the meatiest role of Ravikishan , and he played it smartly, several notches low than his usual pitch. Good to see Sonali Kulkarni as an honest journalist.

The series is overburdened with sub- plots and could have been trimmed and shortened to six episodes. Some of the issues were left unresolved. Politicians nexus in all such crimes are a must and role of electronic media has been highlighted. A must watch, if you really want to understand the meaning of WHISTLEBLOWER.

Sony liv have pledged to show all scams of india and this time it was vyapam scam of Madhya Pradesh

The story is about malfunctions in doctors, police admissions and how Ritwik becomes the whistle blower..the direction was not up to script as what we had seen in scam 1992 a lot could be shown..the series goes on a good pace but the middle episodes were stuck and made the series slow and dragged..Ritwik with kishan played their roles accurately..the series has been given good dark effect with all the other elements like youthfulness background scores love triangles etc

The climax was rushed to conclude thus did not give that ending punch and some segments were kept unfinished probably for a another season to follow

Good title to watch.

Not too engaging, but some good performances. Ritwik Bhowmik is good, Ravi Kishan is entertaining too. Good series but too streched, could have been finished in 5-6 episodes.

In the lines of a big hit on Sony Liv- Scam, whistleblower draws audience attention towards how a huge scam in education department took place. Well researched story, pacy music, catchy dialogues, decent direction has given an edge to this show. Must watch for all.

First of all, don't believe those fake reviews. How to made sure it's fake? Just click those usernames & you'll see they've also give a review just for this show in their entire life. They haven't reviewd any show in past & suddenly they've become a pro? How funny. IMDb should ban this accounts.

This is a great show & deserves appreciation because of the topic it choose to show. Just give it a try. This show is one of the best from India in 2021.

Interesting yet highly flawed!

This show is definitely a must watch for those who want to know what exactly a "Whistleblower" is and how the Vyapam scam happened in Madhya Pradesh.

The series is undoubtedly quite interesting thanks to an interesting topic and an interesting and medium to fast paced screenplay. Next good thing is the performance. Ritwik Bhowmik and Ravi Kishan are the highlights of this show. Others too have done a fair job. A good BGM also helps elevate the interest of this show.

However, this series is not perfect as it is filled with numerous flaws.

1. Tends to unnecessarily drag towards the end.

2. The drag is further helped by the presence of an unnecessary love angle.

3. Witnesses get killed and we only see a glimpse of it. A full sequence showing how they get killed would have been better.

4. Not the best in detailing as compared to Scam 1992.

5. A somewhat weak 2nd half of the series

6. Last but not the least, weird half hearted narration in the background with very ordinary dialogues. Also, quite some episodes cut off to the next at abrupt points that are not highs (I mean to say episodes should end at points that leave viewers desperate for the next one).

Overall, an easily bingeworthy series thanks to an interesting plot and screenplay but get ready to come across some easily visible flaws.

More details on

why was Dr Ashwin killed

what was it that he had discovered on the night before he was killed

how was he actually killed after drugging his dog

who was actually behind his killing

Implications of Dr Sanket's whistle blowing

What consequences did the culprits suffered

Rupesh/Sunil/Gautam we're they actually caught ??

They should have also highlighted what happened to the students who were caught for getting pmt cleared wrong way

That was most important since people will always fear punishment of the wrong doings

This serial could have set a great social and moral message but left me disappointed with plenty of unanswered questions

They can still make a last episode and convey the msg and end series on a high note

As far as acting and direction is concerned it was very good

Loved certain parts were msgs were passed through eyes and facial expressions no need of dialogues

Use of too much of foul language was unnecessary but some how that has become a trend in these days webseries

Biggest Vyapam Scam!

Series made on real Vyapam scam that got unearthed in 2013 which led to 2000+ arrests, 100+ custodial deaths and many unnatural deaths to hide big names and this scam believed to have run systematically from 1990 to 2013 n yet case on with CBI. Very systematically executed series with detailed intricacies of scam. If you want to understand how our entire systems are corrupt with numerous loopholes, watch this.

The Whistleblower On SonyLiv Review: Too Much Is Happening In This Diffusely Told Story Of Corruption In Medical Colleges

It is such a predictable choice, to begin a show with the most dramatic moment - a pummel in a restroom like Taish, or a furtive burial in Tabbar, or as in The Whistleblower: Truth Behind The Lies, an alleged suicide - before inviting the viewer into a flashback to explain how the characters got to this dramatic moment. It usually is the sign of under-confident, insecure storytelling; a desperation to capture the audience from the very first frame. Some streaming platforms insist on this insecurity. This desperation can, like Tabbar morph itself into an artful stream of events. But The Whistleblower is just not able to conjure that level of compelling craft. There is a terrible itch to just want the show to get to the point pronto, and once gotten, to resolve it just as quickly.

The lead actor is not good.

The series is ok, with lot of bad words, trying to copy hollywood. The lead actor Ritwik Bhowmik is not at all good and has over acted and they should had a better lead actors, other actors played their roles good. This non-nepo kids series is what Indian public wants. Hope to see more non- nepo-kids series and web series by Sony liv. Thank you.

I actually enjoyed the detailed look into events surrounding scam, however stretched out they might be. Didn't necessarily enjoy the presentations of the background narration by sanket, but the meaning was there and it hit hard. Overall, this was an important entry, perspective and exposure into the scam.

Perfect culmination of bad acting, choppy editing, sloppy direction and a script full of gaping holes.

Every single person associated with this series will regret this and so will the audience who manage to sit through the complete season.

Totally avoidable. Go watch Scam 1992 again. But don't waste your time on this one.

Very gripping... enjoyed it completely... a tory about Dr Sanket how is mistake leads him to be a whistleblower is very convincing the performance of the central characters and supportive characters are very well captured, overall the story holds you and keeps you engaging.

Set in Bhopal, the series traces the systematic "murder of merit" in a corrupt society through the journey of a final-year medical student Dr Sanket. He is the only son of a renowned doctor Ashwin Badoria (Sachin Khedekar), the founder and owner of Reliable Medical Hospital, a private teaching institute. How Sanket gets sucked into the nefarious web of corruption, the repercussions it has on his personal life, and how he struggles to break free forms the crux of the narrative.

The plot skims through the examination processes of the medical field and the police department but focuses mostly on the activities of the kingpins of the corrupt racket and then on how they are exposed. The turning point does come in at a crucial moment when Sanket realises his mistake.

The lines in the series are not out of the ordinary. But there is one sentence narrated through a voice-over that lingers in your mind. It is, "Those who are right can go to any lengths to be in the right, and those who are wrong will go to any lengths to prove themselves right, but this world can only change by those who want to bring about the change," which inadvertently is a whistleblower's job.

Ritwik Bhowmik as Sanket Badoria delivers a robust performance as the ever experimental, mildly debauch, and unscrupulous youth. He is aptly supported by Ankita Sharma, as the straightforward and righteous Dr Pragya Singh, his love interest. Ridhdhi Khakhar as Pragya's younger spoilt and lazy sister Prachi is equally convincing.

Ashish Verma as the broadcast journalist Anoop, Ravi Kishan as one of the central figures in the corrupt circle, and Zakir Hussain as a politician are common-place and hackneyed.

This show on SonyLIV starts with a slow burn but will keep you engaged and horrified at the same time.

Good Direction.

Could do with bigger stars in Cast.

Pathetic show after scam 1992

Bakwas .. slow .. pata nahi kidhar se kidhar chal rahi hai.. acting worst, after scam 92 its worst to expect from sony liv .. its so funny in the last sequence ravi kishan is in mumbai with prostitutes, and the police got information in bhopal, fraction of seconds ravi kishan is caught by same police officer from bhopal 😂😂😂. And ravi kishan is still with same setting..Matlab kuch bhi pel daaloge ke

Story ka pata nahi kabhi police bharti to kabhi pmt.. Meanwhile research bhi bekar.. vyapam scam didnt happened like this.. Sony LIV .. You dont feel anything for your main actor.. He is so banal. The villains no idea what they do why they do.. Common from scam 1992 its called falling from grace..

It is an awesome series with great thrill. The acting of Ravi Kishan is too good. He extremely indulge in his character that even it doesn't look like he acts infront of camera. Ritvik bhowmik is upcoming star.

The whistleblower is a gripping well researched, well acted , well written series about the education scam... The narrative is well scripted with dialogues written with flavour and colloquial words which sound authentic and are well suited for the characters.
