In March 2019 Australian students defied calls to stay in school and went on strike for climate change action, 12 of them vlogged it, this is their story, told by them. Uncovering who the students are, we find out why are they striking and what it means to them. With one month until the strike day, we meet Doha, who is the lead organiser in Adelaide, she faces a dilemma when an external group won't listen to the guidelines set by the students. Anthony, a Melbourne student who was a member of the Young Liberals, is organising an event for climate change where people may not turn up and doesn't believe young people are being listened to. And Billie, a 13-year-old student organising her local strike, but she lives in Townsville, which is a pro-mining city so will it get the numbers she hopes for?

With two weeks to go, the pressure is building on the students organising the March 2019 School Strike 4 Climate, but with the demands of the movement increasing, balancing strike and schoolwork is proving more difficult for them all, especially for Year 12 students Maiysha, Marco and Doha. Maiysha is a high achieving student who has dreams of studying medicine, she chooses school over strike but finds out she has an exam on the day of the strike and faces a choice. Marco takes a different approach; with his history of activism he chooses to prioritise the strike over doing his schoolwork, and his grades. And Doha in Adelaide, she's just got her worst school test result in two years, can she make the Adelaide strike a success while still getting the grades she wants in her final year of high school?

The School Strike 4 Climate is only a week away and the twelve vlogging students are making their final plans, writing speeches, and getting the message out any way they can. We meet Tiara, who before this had never heard of climate change but must choose a song to perform at the Sydney rally. And Fatima, who grew up in Saudi Arabia where young women don't have a voice, she now uses her skills and passion to organise the promotional work in Melbourne. Doha has an honest conversation about how she feels as a young Muslim in Australia and how her religion colours the way people sometimes interact with her. As the countdown draws to a close the students face the final hurdles. The strike is a huge success across the whole country with people everywhere inspired by what the young Australians have been able to achieve. A month on, the students reflect back on what has happened and what is next.
