The valuable purpose of this film almost gets lost due to its almost faulty presentation

"Uncertain" is really sold at the very last minute when it finally sets a real and quite valuable purpose: a way to prevent teenagers from taking their own lives due to bully and aggressions suffered in school or in the neighborhood. The short film presents Anson (Daniel Kelly) a kid who is trapped in a sort of strange experience, trying to find some help and getting it from two strangers. Later he realizes he's in a situation he can't turn back. He ingested pills, trying to end his life and stop the pain of being hurt by the other kids who call him names.

Whether this being an campaign or just a film, this goes well in delivering its message. Too bad that all the good things of it almost gets lost due to the campy and embarrassing acting from all the three actors on scene and the amateurish visual of the film, almost like a home made video (this wasn't destined for theater release but still, let's have some quality, please). Gladly, this was short, otherwise endure them for too long would be painful to cause some major disaster.

Putting that aside, I can say I was involved in the drama although the script hid too much the problems the kid was having. The ad at the conclusion deals with helping with young teens with sexuality issues. From here you might have a picture formed of what was happening with the kid ("What if they say about me is truth?").

The certain issue, the certain cause but like its title not so right about the way things are presented. Relatively watchable. 6/10

A short film with a precise message. That is the excuse for not the best artistic traits, for a story almost confuse, for the aspects of family camera work. A boy in a bizarre place. Strange dialogues, atmosphere of religious film and the answer. Propaganda for a cause. Just a noble one. Only problem - it is not convincing . Not as artistic film, not as manifesto against bulying .
