Hilarious short film
This Is Perth is a very funny short film by West Australia filmmakers Perrella & Osborn.
This spoof tourist information film gently mocks the city Perth, boasting that it is the "greatest city in the world" while showing pictures of ugly buildings and empty streets.
It claims that Perth's Swan River is inhabited by a giant squid called Bertie, and that Perth's Ferris Wheel is actually a revolving prison.
This Is Perth was a huge internet hit, spreading like wildfire between email accounts and facebook pages. Within 48 hours of being uploaded to youtube, it has been reported by radio and newspaper. It has now been viewed over 150,000 times on youtube making it the most popular Western Australian short film ever.
It went on to win the prestigious "Best Film" award at the West Australian Screen Awards in 2010.
I recommend you watch it on youtube! West Australians will probably find it funnier than others, but still worth a look.
