A slightly different Christmas movie about a man from whom the bank takes everything except stubbornness and friends. Veteran actors do a really good job in this film that at the very least stirs emotions, if nothing else. It's not a masterpiece that will go down in history, but then again, not many are, and at least in this one, there's nothing fundamentally wrong. I recommend it for anyone genuinely interested in European movies even though it's made for TV instead of silver screen. Personally I prefer this to many, more traditional Christmas movies but I do admit I'm in the minority in this matter.

Warm hearted story that can make an adult man to burst in tears

This story tells about an honest and stand-up older man who ends up in trouble after bad investments. Rotten bank manager tries to rip him off of everything valuable and finally even kick him off his own property. With the help of his trustworthy and loyal friend they try to make some money to pay the bills but the bank manager don't play by the books. Story takes place pre-Christmas and ends at the eve and that brings it's own spice to story. There are of course other plot twists that make the movie even better but better to keep some hidden. If you like "a bit odd" Finnish way of making movies you should see this. The main characters are some of the "grand old man" of Finnish film industry. I have seen this twice, both times at Christmas eves, and loved it, cried both times, but loved it...
