Totally useless movie, story is 100% predictable from the word go, a simple guy beats the hell out of goons.
WHY??????
Coz he was a mahapurush yugpurush and nonpurush level in his forgotten past. How long such crap movies be made on this thin plot, if someone is fed same dal-chawal or rasam-rice daily for 20 years but the ambience of the room changes and cutlery is glorified how would the food feel, exactly the SAME. Thats what this movie is about. Terrible movie, and with the true love of never say die audience its obvious that these purushless movies will be made for another 500 years and at interval when its revealed that hard hitting simple guy was a Don or special agent or something of a miracle in past the audience will have their eyeballs popping out in sheer shock. God bless the makers and those who pay to consume such vomit of 100 year old stale food.

A film like this will be the first time in Lokesh's career! Lokesh said that there is something big happening in the first 10 minutes which I felt was the most hated 10 minutes. There is a Malayalam film released in 2016 called Pulimurukan in which the association between Puli and the hero seems more original than this. Vijay's acting is same in all movies. Story and character without a logic! Das brothers have done their role very well. Babu Antony and Mathew from Malayalam had less roles. Better than releasing a movie like this, it is copied from somewhere, we can find it on YouTube. Rs. 190 ticket savings!

Stupid Movie. Here is an example of how you take a good movie (A History of Violence) and screw it up in remaking. An insult to your intelligence.
Everything is bad in this movie. Bad acting, bad lines and bad action. The story telling is nonsensical and ridiculous. Don't the creators of this movie watch it during post production and realize that they have created something super dump and dreary? I am truly surprised how people watch it in theaters.
Every frame and every scene screams FAKE. Sorry to see Mathew Thomas (good Malayalam upcoming actor) talent wasted here. I got through this movie painfully by taking too many breaks.

When people have a weak storyline and don't have confidence that they can make this film work, they always try to pull in all famous actors believing that their cumulative fan base will make the film successful. In Leo, loki tries to makeup with actors, stunts and high level GCI cause the doesn't have a good story. The starts slowly and pick ups pace until where the hero starts to play NFS with bike and fights literally few 100 people. In climax, he is like a invincible character who can fight everyone, without issue. For someone, who didn't fight for at least 15 years as per story, this doesn't fit in.

I really feel sorry for the folks who have watched this movie in the cinema halls after paying for the pain & headache post that. We can condense the whole movie to 5 mins story. I lost 3 hours of my lifetime. :-( All illogical things, wasted star cast and wasted budget. Worst acting, worst story-line, and the worst is they wasted, Arjun, Sanjay Dutt, Menon, Trisha, and lots of CGI artists. No logic anywhere. Yes, we can digest a bit of ultra manly stuff, but at least with some logic. This movie breaches all. Prepares tons of weapons, has a son who is older than him and his wife, and many more debacles. This is simple put a pure torture, and fits the people who wants.

First half was ok to watch... then everything failed. No idea how they celebrated success...Vijay's acting improved a bit in this movie... I think it's high time for Tamil movies to stop showcasing only bad people and the hero killing 100 guys by himself... in reality no one sees so many cruel people and killings ... second half of this movie is literally waste of time and none of the scene is believable ... Did not expect this from Lokesh Kanagaraj. And just for the sake of adding LCU element, the last scene was added and it did not even fit well... many scenes and dialogs were copied or very similar from Baasha and other movies... second half and the main core of the movie fell apart so badly... when they say beast was bad, this is equally bad ... Lokesh has to come up with a good one in his next movie... stop showcasing so much violence, have a strong story line and some thrilling moments ... hope he does a good job with Thalaivar 171...

The one star is for Sanju and Trisha. The rest is nothing the purest form of boredom I've ever experienced. And a different Vijay for sure. I read this comment somewhere on imdb only. I would like to have what the movie makers and the actors and the audience rating this movie 7+ had while shooting and rating this movie. An hour into the movie and still lost is something even Marvel or DC or the best of best Bollywood directors didnt do. Guess this is tamil movie special. Thoroughly disappointed as a tamilizhan myself. Can't believe I sent my family to watch this crap. And what the hell was that hyena scene? The directors put out such good fight scene but couldn't deliver a decent animal animation.

I have just seen the movie but I have no idea about the script and more importantly, I still don't know the story of the movie.
Just overrated movie, crazy fans creating hype for unnecessarily compare with other sequel this movie is worst. There is no logic in the story and flash back story and everything in this movie.
The acting of every actor and actress is good but the proper use of the characters is not satisfactory.
Stunts and chasing scenes are illogical, visual effects are good but the imagination of the director is still surprising and makes this film without any logic. Totally one time watch movie...

I have watched some really interesting movies of the Actor Vijay, and I hoped this would bring something new to the table. Spoilers alert, it doesn't.
What this movie does instead is bring you more cliché, with uninteresting dialogues and bad CGI. The motivations of characters are extremely unclear, they are just following a very linear path to reach the end. It's like the climax of the movie is already known, we are only sitting there to suffer the badly choreographed action sequences and horrible CGI. The worst culprit of all is the background music that is played in almost every scene. Not once did it match the theme of the scene being displayed on the screen. Music and song selection hinders any type of connection you were going to make to the characters or their emotions.
The actors in the movie are good, but the scripts limits their ability to deliver anything meaningful. The script is so weak, I was left wondering how much money was offered to the actors to ignore all good common sense and just accept the job. I don't see anything good coming out of the writers in the future if they think this is their successful movie writing attempt. The director should have had a clear vision of what their movie should be like, not a hot mess of multiple ideas stitched together.
In conclusion, watch this movie if you want, but you will be disappointed by the plot, the music and most of all, the directors choices for this movie.

"Leo," directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, stands as a monumental disappointment, a testament to how a film can falter in almost every conceivable aspect. Marketed with grandeur and promise, the film not only fails to deliver but plunges into the depths of cinematic failure.
The plot, or the lack thereof, is the film's most glaring flaw. It's a haphazard assembly of scenes with no coherent narrative thread, leaving viewers perplexed and disengaged. The storyline, revolving around Vijay's character, is so thinly veiled and underdeveloped that it borders on the non-existent. This abysmal lack of substance makes the 2.40-hour runtime feel like an endless, aimless drift.
Characterization in "Leo" is woefully inadequate. Esteemed actors like Arjun and Sanjay Dutt are criminally underused, their roles amounting to little more than glorified cameos with no depth or impact. Vijay's performance, usually a saving grace, is marred by overacting, stripping away the charm and charisma he's known for.
Violence in the film is not just prevalent; it's glorified to a disturbing degree. Scenes of brutality are gratuitous and excessive, contributing nothing to the story and raising serious concerns about the film's moral compass. The occasional attempts to shield a child's eyes from this violence only serve to highlight the filmmakers' tone-deaf approach to the subject.
The music and background score by Anirudh are disappointingly generic, lacking the innovation and freshness required to elevate a film of this scale. Instead, it sinks into a morass of mediocrity, indistinguishable from countless other scores in Tamil cinema.
The film's connection to the Lokesh Cinematic Universe feels like a desperate, tacked-on attempt to salvage some interest, but it instead adds to the confusion and disjointed nature of the film. The climax, rather than providing any resolution or satisfaction, further entrenches the film in its narrative disarray.
In conclusion, "Leo" is a calamitous blunder in filmmaking. It's a movie that fails on almost every level - storytelling, characterization, moral responsibility, and entertainment value. For audiences seeking quality cinema, "Leo" is an experience best avoided, a stark reminder of how even the most promising projects can go disastrously wrong.

One liner: The movie portrays a substance smuggler as hero. Period. 1 star
Top hero of the industry who has moved to politics to serve people should have considered not taking this movie or at least should have changed the storyline to support good. Pathetic culture going around in cinema industry nowadays to support all these powders, alcohol, abuses, killings, rowdyism... guys get some life. There are much better things you can do to the society. Just stop spoiling the young generation portraying such characters as heroes. Upto some extent in the movie I was hoping the hero to be some government secret agent or police etc (like Vikram movie) but this has very substandard storyline.

"Leo," the Tamil movie directed by Lokesh, promised an engaging and entertaining experience, but unfortunately, it fell short of expectations. The film lacked a cohesive storyline, leaving the audience confused and disinterested throughout.
One of the major drawbacks of "Leo" was its weak character development. The main protagonist seemed one-dimensional and lacked depth, making it difficult for viewers to connect or empathize with their journey. Supporting characters were underutilized and had little impact on the overall narrative, leaving us with forgettable performances.
The screenplay was another letdown. The plot felt disjointed and poorly paced, with unnecessary subplots that only served to further convolute an already confusing storyline. The lack of a clear direction and purpose made it challenging to stay engaged, and the film dragged on for an unnecessarily long duration.
Additionally, the visual aspects of the movie were underwhelming. The production values seemed subpar, with a noticeable lack of attention to detail. The cinematography failed to capture the essence of the scenes effectively, and the editing felt choppy and disjointed.
Furthermore, the music and background score failed to create any impact. The songs felt forced and out of place, adding little value to the overall experience. The lack of a memorable soundtrack further detracted from the film's appeal.
In conclusion, "Leo" is a disappointing Tamil movie that fails to deliver on its promises. With a weak storyline, poor character development, and subpar production values, it struggles to keep the audience engaged. While it's important to acknowledge the efforts of the cast and crew, "Leo" ultimately falls short of being a compelling cinematic experience.
