- Using an incantation, Morgause revives the deadly Knights of Medhir and, whilst Merlin and Arthur are the sole survivors of the party sent to beat the knights, Morgause uses Morgana to bewitch Camelot so that everybody except Morgana herself falls asleep, rendering the court defenseless when the knights approach, intent on killing the king. Merlin learns from the Great Dragon that the only way to break the spell is to kill Morgana, so he uses her as his bargaining power to force Morgause to call off the attack. As a consequence he must honour his pledge to free the dragon.—don @ minifie-1
- Promising mortal revenge on Uther, Morgause enlists Morgana's help to spread a sleep plague throughout Camelot, which Gaius can't cure or resist himself. Only Arthur and Merlin haven't succumbed to it, having been on a far mission. As they only survived, none of their knight guards, the attempt to eliminate the ancient undead Knights of Mehdir, which Morgause revived taking the place of their creator-witch, it seems a desperate task to defend Camelot or at least save Uther alone, even if they can stay awake. Merlin seeks the dragon's counsel, and this time swears by his ma's life to free it in exchange. He keeps his word, although the advice was to eliminate the knights' magical power source - witch Morgana.—KGF Vissers
- Morgause incants the resurrection of the seven Knights of Medhir to set against Camelot. Arthur and Merlin lead a party of guards to investigate the tale's validity, an encounter which only Merlin and Arthur survive. Returning to Camelot for reinforcements, they find everyone asleep, all but Morgana (used by Morgause as the linchpin of her sleeping spell). As Arthur and Merlin start feeling its effect and struggle to protect their unconscious king, Merlin, with much regret, learns of only one way to break the enchantment and save all of Camelot before it's too late - kill Morgana.—statmanjeff
