The movie was shot in chronological order over the course of three days. 24 minutes of screen time were captured the first day of filming, and the last shot of the movie is actually the last take filmed.
Two days before production, an actor backed out due to personal reasons. In an attempt to save the project, Director Ryan Mechan asked Editor Allen Wengert to step in to the role. Allen accepted, but the character and plot were altered to accommodate the change.
To add a sense of realism, there were no scripted lines, and each take was improvised.
No one on the cast or crew knew how the movie was going to end until the last day of shooting.
Ryan Mechan (Director) plays the role of the villain the first time he is seen; Allen Wengert (Fuller) runs the camera for those shots, and acts as a stand in for the villain in the outdoor shots. For the rest of the movie, including the action scene, Jesse Howell (Bailey) plays the villain.
