Very rare we get to see this kind of movies in Gujarati..the direction was of top level and about acting its the master himself mr pareshbhai..the movies goes in a good pace and from the start it keeps you on toes..the thrill was very exciting along with the climax with a good message

I would say this is the best Gujarati film ever made, the storytelling is good and the best thing about the film is the cinematography, non of the movies was ever made with such great cinematography, the lighting the dual colour combinations of blue and orange. The colour grading was also good. And the acting of the actors was also mind-blowing. And the dubbing was also great. Overall, the whole film was great but couldn't make it to the box office. I felt bad because the budget of the movie was 8-10 cr and the film earned 60 lac.

Paresh Rawal's acting is mind blowing. The whole concept of this movie is really great. And I really loved the subtle way of visuals and dialogues explaining dome deep meaning of life.

Movie is well acted by Paresh Rawal. Movie went bit slow. The father' role is pathetic and some unreal. Anyway in some cases , we can expect such father in real life, however the message from movie is only for Son and Daughter is law, nothing for pathetic father. In current world such father also unacceptable who doesn't respect the Educated Daughter in law. There should be some message for father also, to change his views inline with current world is missing in movie. Anyway It is good and entertaining and specially the dialogue and acting of Paresh Rawal and Mansi Parekh is excellent. One time must watch.

Just go and watch this film with your entire family, but...... Be alert because It's not an entertainment movie. Specifically made for married people who lives in joint family or departed from joint family. Paresh Raval and entire starcast made a great effort. Each character from their acting and eyes/emotions you'll realise realise the same feeling director wanted to show. Keep growing Gujarati film industry.

Baghban Part 2

The movie felt so slow that I had to watch at 1.5x . The first half was tolerable, I even enjoyed it, the second half is just complete torture. What happened in Baghban was that atleast character of AB and Hema Malini were likeable. Here, Paresh Rawal has a complete patriarchal mindset which does not let us root for him. I will have to watch some good movie after this for a nice balance in my life.

Excellent acting by Paresh Raval sir, Mansi Parekh and Chetan Dhanani. I have watched only one movie (other than Dear Father) of Chetan (Reva, excellent one) so I don't have much to say about him. But, Paresh Raval Sir and Mansi has done great job. Acting skill vise it's really a great one.

If we go by storyline, unfortunately, this is the actual story of almost 7/10 families. Generation gap is, may be the root of it. When parents get older, with old age they are also dealing with the change in their nature. Our new generation is obviously lacking the patience. We get irritated at really quick. Where our elders don't want to compromise the rituals/traditions, we people want to live our life with no interference at all. The consequences are beautifully shown in the movie.

The way movie goes back and forth with twists is awesome, and one more thing shown amazingly is, between our elders holding on their thoughts and our almost impatience young generation holds on their right of freedom, only one person gets pissed is, the person who is the mutual connection between these two generation.

I want to say only one thing to people who are comparing this movie with Baghban, please don't. Baghban was a great movie so this one is. Moreover what I feel, movies like Baghban, Dear Father and many others are to understand rather than just watching.

Overall, a great one in Gujarati Cinema. Let's appreciate the hard work of all the team and the effort to put the reality of today's time to people.

Illogical

Okay, let me first say that I loved the performance of all 3 leads. Really enjoyed the witty dialogues and some interactions between characters were genuinely funny.

But where the move really fails for me is the logic. The point it tries to make is elders often lack support and warmth from their adult children, and are often mistreated/disrespected by them.

This would have actually worked if they showed any form of serious mistreatment from Ajay and Alka towards Manubhai. I didn't see a single instance where Manubhai wasn't taken care of, and the demands that his son and daughter-in-law had were actually not unreasonable at all.

On the contrary, we see Manubhai disrespecting Alka on several instances, and his behavior is shown to be actually quite annoying and manipulative.

It's really hard to empathize with his character because of this. He did make a few good points regarding being smart with your finances, etc. But everything else was just plain stupidity.

When a biased one-sided story like this is perceived as one that creates awareness for a household social issue, it is important that it is made from an actually unbiased point of view - which this story hugely lacks. This is especially important in Indian societies, where many households are severely toxic in this respect.

Movies like these have to be an example of an ideal, mentally healthy family that reasonably solves problems like these, instead of blaming/gaslighting and manipulating the younger generation for doing something they didn't really do. If not, at least have a character arc that shows a character growing from being toxic to being understanding and empathetic - and this applies to both the older and younger generations.

Good examples of these include What the Folks, TVF Tripling, etc.

Also genre-wise, the transition from comedy to a murder mystery to a family drama doesn't really sit well with this story. It finds itself getting pulled in all these directions simultaneously, and it doesn't do justice to either one of them.

Mr. Paresh Rawal is brilliant and acted better than Mr. Nana Patekar in original movie Aapla Manus.

This is a new trend emerging amongst films where they amalgate different genres smoothly. Saw the same with Rajamouli's RRR...where it amalgamates adventure, mythology and thriller genre... Good for the audience...

I am a native hindi speaker.... But I am surprised at the great quality of vernacular cinema....

Please release such movies with hindi audio upon release....

Audiences deserve this quality.

I expected to be crime thriller but it turned out something else. There is a lot of suspense which is maintained throughout the movie. But in the end it became lame as the message that this film wanted to convey wasn't that impactful.

The storyline and screenplay is 10/10.

Excellent use of Gujarati language with old sayings. Suspense, emotions and acting brings you to the edge of your seat.

Must see this movie.

Paresh Raval has given his best acting. He is main attraction. He has reminded many real life characters. This role is written for him and he has justified. He spoke in basic Gujarati language with tone we heard from many.

Chetan Dhanani has been fantastic in sons and husband role. I saw his acting first time and initially I thought he would have been an okay actor but, he has been an excellent actor and played an admirable role.

As always, Mansi Parekh has played this role very well. She is an established actor and I found her acting skills which matches her reputation.

Must watch movie for everyone

It's just not movie. It's the story of every parents living with their Beta and bahu. Nicely drafted, pacefully said ,well acted and superbly directed. Nothing better way to understand nuisance of joint family and emotions of parents and married son and daughter in law. How arguments and reasoning can supersede emotions, how privacy of modern life make parents alone and how overprotective of parents make children life more difficult for them . All nicely said in this movie. Best acting by Paresh rawal. Other roles are played nicely too. Must watch it for everyone especially newly married couple who live with parents or just staying at different place to have privacy.
