Kyriè Sierra Davenport was not written in the original script, but when she read lines during casting while not reading the script and hitting the marks, the Director (her dad) had to write her in somewhere as he thought she was phenomenal.
Unable to acquire more cast members the base camp scene and other filler scenes with Roscoe's team were removed making the 30 minute short become even shorter. And the cast was fitted with a different uniform to signify they were the other team, but even with voice altering effects, it did not come off as well as was hoped it would.
This being one of the first productions of Aria Pictures, it only be fitting that the character name and actor portraying it was Aria, but casting a 6 foot, 16 year old to play the part of the newbie (the one who would carry the story) was a tall order, especially after casting Robert John MacGregor to play the role of Trevor who was suppose to be the older brother.
Justin Mosier was a surprise find who wanted to help behind the camera, but he had a look that was perfect on screen. But his dyslexia was a hurdle and had to be dealt with in editing. His lines were slipped into the bark on the tree when he's talking with Trevor. Toward the end of the shooting, Justin was a little more comfortable and confident with his place in the movie.
Aria Leven Davenport, Kyriè Sierra Davenport, and Patrick Donald Wheatley were the only ones with prior acting experience acting in many school plays.
