I just saw this short film on the Doorpost Film Project's website and enjoyed it. But, when I looked at IMDb, it said this was a 22 minute movie, whereas the film I saw was only 7 minutes. When gives?! Is IMDb wrong or did the film makers make an alternate shorter version in order to enter the competition on Doorpost's site? All I know is that if the film was originally 22 minutes long, that would be good thing, as 7 minutes is just too short. The idea needed more time to be adequately and I was left wanting more.
The film is highly original and this is something I don't get to say often enough. It begins with a man being approached in his office by a lady--a very strange lady. It seems she is magical and has come to tell him he might be going to die that night--or perhaps another in the house will die! See the film to see where it goes next.
It's nice to see that some of the special effects in the film are possible for young film makers on limited budgets--some of the scenes just wouldn't have been possible just a few years earlier. The overall film is very professional and worth a look. I sure hope to see more from the folks who made this. And, I'd love to know if there is an alternate version out there that is longer.
