Unwatchable

This bloke goes on and on about how nobody cares about the war or what the troops have been through because a lot of people DIDN'T come to the exhibition...and those who did come didn't appreciate it.

First off, the art was just "ok", their music was terrible and the poetry was downright awful (I felt embarrassed for them).

The only thing we learned about Webster is that he has zero talent and needs help dealing with his experience during his time as a soldier. What's lacking is we didn't see a single good quality about him. That's too bad because everyone has something good.

The directors failed miserably in telling his story, which is very unfortunate. The screaming and foul language was off putting and unnecessary.

I hope he gets his life together and moves on.

Brilliant and interesting throughout.

This is actually one of the best documentaries I've ever seen and working in the media, I've seen many. One was very pleased with the plethora of content regarding this chap's treatment at the hands of the main-stream-media.

The old adage.rings true of, 'If it's in the papers, take it with a pinch of salt'. Here we go further and realise what the paper's printed, was in fact, lies.

Here we have video footage from the frontline, thoughts, poems, musicial skills, anger, sadness, reflection, dispair and hope. It's the promulgations of a chap recovering from the horrors of war, followed by the whirlwind of being thrust into the spotlight.

Again, this is an amazing documentary, especially for what I belive is a first.forey into the world of film.

You want genuine, real experience of how it was?

I read a review earlier obviously from someone who has never served and has absolutely no idea of what this film is trying to say. This film shows how the truth can be smeared when it doesn't fit a governments narrative and how truthful voices can be shut down. It is not glossy, perfectly edited and produced but this is as about as real as it gets. Some people don't want to hear the truth and deal with reality, they just don't have the guts to face it. Please watch it, then sit on your own and think, just see what happens.

Real

This documentary is as real and gritty as they come. Raw emotion , unedited frontline footage and the sad exposure of how our armed forces are treated by the governments that send them in to battle..

An emotional ride, open and honest. Real news, real reporting, a very important piece of history documented that we all must learn from..

No watered down stories or fake narratives you see in the media, the directors have nothing to hide. Documentaries like this are very much needed in society today, you can see the raw un-edited filming, not like the media of today wants you to believe.

Tbh if you're one of those sheltered people who think the world's all rosy and thinks everybody owes you something, this might not be the documentary for you. Stick to the likes of the BBC.

Eye opening

This honest, raw and heart wrenching insight to the impact of war and the media machine leaves nothing. Webster opens his heart to his journey of recovery, for that he should be applauded. Shamed, scapegoated and demonised not really additional things our recovering guardians should ever have to go through. If this film doesn't touch your soul and make you question, I doubt you had a soul to begin with.

Brilliant account of truth
tapellow3 July 2022
This is an excellent account of the effects of what some would say was an unfair treatment of a soldier doing what he was taught to do , the effect of politics to satisfy those who have no idea. This would make a fantastic BBC documentary. Well done for your honesty and bravery , excellent production.
