Quentin Tarantino walked through the set while the crew was setting up for the morning sequence to be shot on Congress Ave in Austin, Tx. Filming was taking place outside a restaurant called Las Manitas, and Tarantino has been known to frequent the restaurant while visiting Austin.
Over thirty (30) 911 calls were made to the local police while the crew was filming the crash scene - despite numerous lights, crew members, and equipment vehicles on set.
The wrecked car that was rented had actual dried blood on the seat from the real accident the vehicle was in. Plastic bags had to be taped over the seat to protect the actors and crew members.
The hospital used in the film was an actual working hospital. The cast and crew were given only two hours to setup and film all the required scenes. Everything worked perfectly and the production left the hospital with five minutes to spare.
