When Disher and Stottlemeyer first come into Monk's hospital room, Monk's right hand is on his chest. It then cuts to a different angle and the hand is not there and he raises it to his chest. For the rest of the scene the hand alternates between being near his neck and being near his waist.
A blue late 1980s Ford Mustang GT Convertible is hit on the left side and the front hubcap comes off. The Ford Mustang did not come with hubcaps but with 16" alloy wheels.
When Stottlemeyer tells Monk that Molly is in Monterey County, Monk quips that it's only 20 minutes away. Monterey is over 100 miles away from any SFPD police station (or substation), which is where the conversation took place, and is more than a two-hour drive with no traffic jams.
In Mr. Monk and the Actor (2006), Monk recalls that on the day of her death, Trudy wanted him to accompany her. On remembering this, he says, many times, "It's true." However, in Mr. Monk and the End: Part 2 (2009), Trudy's errand to meet Rickover was one which she intended to keep a secret and about which she would not have asked her husband to accompany her.
When Monk confronts Judge Rickover, Rickover asks Monk if he's going to kill a federal judge. Rickover is actually a California state judge.
Monk told Stottlemeyer that Rickover had been nominated to the federal bench. Actually, Rickover had been a California Superior Court judge (a trial judge). He would have gone to the California appellate bench, specifically, the First Appellate District, sitting in San Francisco.
The state Supreme Court is the highest appellate court in California.
