- After a man spreads a pathogen on the grounds of a company, the Fringe team start an investigation. While stuck inside the quarantine zone, Peter and Olivia try to identify the origin of the pathogen. Outside, Walter tries to find a cure.
- When a man enters an office in Boston for a meeting, he becomes disoriented and collapses, only to have his veins erupt and spray blood everywhere. Shortly after Olivia and Peter arrive at the scene to investigate the bizarre case, it's discovered that a lethal virus - with deep ties to something very valuable - is spreading, so the CDC moves in to quarantine the building and eradicate the pathogens. Isolated inside with the rest of the exposed office employees, Peter and Olivia face life-threatening circumstances, sending Walter, Broyles and Astrid on a frantic search for a solution to save them.—FOX Publicity
- In Boston, a man enters an oil company building and when he reaches the reception, his arteries dilates and he sprays blood on several employees. Olivia and Peter investigate the case and soon they learn that the man was murdered by a deadly virus. The CDC arrives and locks the building in quarantine. Soon Dr. Bishop learns that the lethal virus is from the Ice Age and together with Astrid, he tries to find a means to identify and destroy the virus. Soon the infected people including Peter are identified and have to stay in the building. But soon Walter discovers that the virus changes the behavior of the victim that tries to leave the quarantine to spread and the CDC director shows a study of how the pandemic would propagate. Further, the only way to restrain the outbreak is killing the infected people in the building.—Claudio Carvalho, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

A guy with a European accent rides in an office building elevator with a courier. The courier notices the guy looks a little sick and we see a trickle of blood run down his left nostril. They both get off at a company called Vetros Petrol and the man wander off to the left.
The man falls to the ground and the courier begins performing CPR and eventually proclaims the man to be dead. At that point the man starts shaking, his face gets super-veiney and bloods sprays out of his mouth into the air.
Astrid (Jasika Nicole) finds Walter (John Noble) at the Boston Children's Science Center telling a group of school children an incredibility horrifying story about Magellan, death and monsters under the bed. The result is his season pass being revoked.
Olivia (Anna Torv) and Peter (Joshua Jackson) are the first Fringe Division folks to get to Vetros. The dead man's name is Vandenkamp and he was Dutch. No one in the office knew Vandenkamp and he did not have an appointment. A Vetros VP named Aimes asks Olivia what was is going on.
The courier (Mike) has gone to the bathroom. We see he is sweaty and a trickle of blood is coming down his left nostril.
Walter and Astrid arrive at Vetros. They walk up to the front door with Broyles (Lance Reddick) just as Mike is trying to exit. Walter holds the door closed and we see Mike's face veins bulge and blood spray all over the inside of the door before he collapses. Walter says the building must be quarantined because he believes there is a contagion present. He says no one can leave, even after realizing Peter is still inside.
Walter explains the situation to Peter as the CDC arrives.
After learning Mike's fate, the folks up in Vetros start to panic. The building's ventilation situation is shut off and they separate the people who had direct contact with Vandenkamp.
CDC Field Director McFadden gets the lowdown from Broyles and begins to set up his teams.
Bishop wanders into one of the CDC's tents and starts demanding samples before getting himself arrested. Broyles is able to convince McFadden to let Dr. Bishop take a few samples to his Harvard lab for testing.
Olivia can't find any record of Vandenkamp in the Vetros database, but sees Aimes had cancelled two appointments scheduled for that day. Olivia and Peter are called over to see a woman, the receptionist, who has begun having nosebleeds. They place her in a room and give her some blankets.
Olivia takes Aimes aside and learns Vandenkamp was there to sell him information from one of Vetros' competitors. Aimes doesn't have any specifics and Vandenkamp was supposed to have been there early in the morning.
Broyles tells Olivia that Vandenkamp was an oil consultant who flew to Boston from Dubai three days earlier. So far no one on his plane has reported any illness.
At Harvard, Walter works to isolate the virus' strain. The sample turns out to be too fragile to isolate, but Walter doesn't believe the virus to be airborne.
Olivia tells Peter she hasn't called her sister yet because she doesn't want to scare her needlessly. The receptionist runs screaming past Peter (knocking him into some of Vandenkamp's blood and jumps out a window. Olivia notices Peter has blood on his hand and he rushes to wash it off. Given the contact he's already had, Peter elects to root through Vandenkamp's pockets. He finds car keys and the CDC is able to pull a briefcase out of Vandenkamp's rental.
Bishop tells Broyles he thinks the virus somehow realizes it is contained, and therefore made the receptionist jump out the window to spread itself around.
They find a drill core sample from an exploratory dig inside Vandenkamp's suitcase. It contains a sample of the virus. The sample came from ten miles below the surface and Bishop thinks this virus may be the one responsible for wiping out the Ice Age. Bishop can now create a tox screen to see who is infected.
McFadden tells one of his underlings to get approval for a "Level 6 Eradication."
Peter's nose begins to bleed just as Bishop begins testing. Peter cheats so his test result will be clear, but when he attempts to leave the building he is stopped by a CDC guard who notices blood coming from his nose. Peter demands Olivia let him out of the building and starts pounding on the door.
Astrid tells Walter that Peter is actually infected.
With 11 people infected, McFadden is ready to bring in the Army and kill everyone with the virus to keep it from spreading.
Bishop tells Astrid he wants to stay in the building and work on a cure. Astrid stays with him and they begin to investigate Vandenkamp's body. Bishop tells her "I can't let Peter die again." Astrid is able to build-up his confidence. Bishop comes up with the theory maybe the volcanic eruption at Mount Toba covered the virus up in the first place, and so perhaps sulfur (like in the ash) could kill it now. Grabbing horseradish from the fridge they are able to prove the theory correct.
Despite Bishop having an cure, McFadden still doesn't think there is enough time before the infected people break out of the building. He allows Olivia 15 minutes to go inside and turn on the building's ventilation system. If she does that, they can pump in Fentanyl gas and knock out the infected people until the cure is ready.
Olivia meets up with Peter in the garage. He has turned virus-crazy and is demanding she let him out. Eventually they get into a skirmish and Peter is able to take away her gun. He gets into the elevator and heads back upstairs. While he does that, Olivia manages to turn back on the ventilation and the gas is pumped in. When Peter's elevator opens on the first floor he is unconscious on the floor. Peter and the rest of the infected are able to receive the cure.
Afterwards Astrid asks Bishop what he meant about not letting Peter die "again." "Some things are meant to be left alone," he tells her.
