Excellent for elephant lovers

Very partial to animal documentaries and this is one of the best I've seen in a long while. My background is biology, BS degree, just so you know. Even tho I live in the US, I've always wanted to visit the National Parks of Africa.

Follow the adventures of 'Echo', a 60+ yr old matriarch of a herd of elephants (30+) in the Amboseli National Park in Kenya, during a severe drought.

Although they give explanations of some of the elephants behavior, they don't explain how they know. Example: At one point, they say that Echo and a niece have a disagreement about which direction to go, based on posturing. Then, the niece leaves the main group with some others to go another direction. It would be better if they just admitted, that they were unsure, but based on years of observation or some other means, this is what they theorize.

There were several other examples, but I guess I just don't like it when a documentary claims to 'know' what an animal is thinking.

The footage is top rate and they also include the efforts of the Elephant Research Center for the park, 2 bull elephants fighting for mating rights for 3 days and more.

All in all, tho, a must watch for you nature lovers and elephant fans
