The best of the three

Or, if not the best (those who have read the books argue that it's the least faithful to the text), my favorite. It has (many) more suspects than "Strong Poison", and a more reasonable running time than "Have His Carcase". The first episode is promising, mainly because of the setting (a girls' college in Oxford), the premise (anonymous poison-pen letters), and a few POV tracking shots, all of which combine to make this look faintly like a giallo! The second episode is exceedingly talky and slow; almost nothing happens in it. The third and final episode is also slow, but at least the solution of the mystery gives you something to think about, and even though Lord Peter Wimsey makes only guest appearances in the previous two episodes, here he takes center stage and the will-they-or-won't-they affair between him and Harriet Vane is finally resolved in a satisfying manner. **1/2 out of 4.
