It's interesting that the filmmakers decided to give Elena a very famously 1990s haircut, "the Rachel," despite this film's setting in 1983.
In the Arboria Institute's promo film, dated MCMLXVII (1967), the Arboria logo is set in the Avant Garde font. This font was based on the logo of Avant Garde magazine, created in 1968, and wasn't available as a full typeface until 1970.
Dr. Nyle drives through the Fraser River Tunnel in Richmond, British Columbia in 1983, but the glowing yellow LED lane markers were only installed in the tunnel in the early 2000s.
Lyle had no need to get into his car to chase Elena. She was walking away from the center very, very slowly and he appears to leave soon after her.
In the 105th minute when Barry catches up to Elena in the woods, it is unclear why or how his foot became trapped, leading to his tripping striking his head against a rock.
