The story of a terminally ill 65 year old man who relives his past in his mind with his first memory being that of a 5 year old boy in 1943 World War Two England. He is haunted by a picture of his Lancaster bomber pilot father that he never knew, which creates happiness, broken with tragedy throughout his life. His father is a decorated Wing Commander of a famous Lancaster Bomber squadron that made history with a spectacular and very special bombing raid into Germany. Young Billyboy eventually emigrates to Canada where he starts a new life as a teenager who falls in love and marries at a young age. Various tragedies befall Billyboy as he travels through life and he eventually makes the decision to return to England after being diagnosed with an illness. What becomes of him after his return will surprise you.
