Very subtle and warm, amazing

I didn't know what to expect from the movie but I am really amazed by how accurately the subtleties of the post-war society in Sarajevo are represented. Wounds and traumas are still fresh and it takes very little to make them bleed again. But it is such a warm and kind movie, it shows how important keeping ties with the people around you is and it shows the soul of the mahala, the neighbourhood. Well done Pjer Zalica πŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‘πŸΌ. I also am positively surprised by the absence of the usual obscenities that are characteristic for Balkan movies; I tend to avoid watching Balkan movies with other people but Praznik Rada is one I strongly recommend to anyone.

Pier did it again

Warning: Spoilers
Great cinematography, beautiful shots, someone worked hard to give us this great experience.

Acting is unforced, the dialog flows naturally and feels like listening to your own neighbours.

Music is right where it needs to be, carries the emotions thorough the movie.

But then it becomes predictable, just like every other Pier Zalica movie. Basically what he does in every single one of his films is:

Take three or more characters to represent the three constitutive nations of Bosnia.

Let them fight about whose fault is it.

Why can we be human, people?

Why can't we all get along.

Then a big spoiler for all his movies, the answer:

Because of the Serbs.
