As a clinical social worker specializing in trauma treatment In New York State I can confidently saythis documentary is the best depiction of both the experience of PTSD in veterans and provides real life examples of evidence-based treatment for the condition. It is no accident that one of the clinicians featured prominently in the film is Kathleen Chard PhD, who is a co-developer of one of the 3 treatments depicted (Cognitive Processing Therapy) and was the person who provided my own training in the intervention. The other treatments included are EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and Prolonged Exposure Therapy. If you are someone with PTSD, have a loved one with the condition, or are a mental health professional working in the trauma field this is a must watch!
