Captain Buckner picks Sharkey and Robinson for a research project. They'll be stationed in San Francisco with their men for seven days to test the reactions of those not used to submarine duty, determining the feasibility to be used as troop transports. Sharkey and his men are cramped as seven in a tiny room. Sharkey's plan to spend the nights with Natalie are threatened by the captain who insists all men must stay on board for continual test results.
