It's all a little bit "leave it".
There's an interesting idea here, but the contestants (including the queen bee, Sophia) seem to be incapable of developing an effective strategy. When a "single" contestant is suspected of actually having a partner, all they seem able to do is repeatedly state that they really, really, really are single.
As well as needing contestants with some ability to strategise, the situation needs more complication. Where are the group activities that are really designed to stir things up? There are some activities, but they're bland and low power.
Katherine Ryan does a reasonable enough job of being a combination presenter/confidante and comedic commentator, but they really need the budget to be able to employ two people.
And finally, Sophia ("wisdom") couldn't have been more inappropriately named. She's like a very young anti-incarnation of Agatha Christie's Miss Marple: clueless.
