Thank god bollywood directors are experimenting with such new movies. Very well directed, acted and very good cinematography.

Plot is strong, can ignore some small details. But overall a very interesting movie. Worth watching more than once.

After watching similar stupid movies like Race 3, Dabang Franchise, Singham Franchise and other over the top action movies, bollywood should try such movies even with big stars.

The big stars of bollywood should make such movies with strong plot and intelligent direction. They waste huge budgets on stupid movies, which may earn some money early but will be lost in dust of time.

Such movies will be added to cult list and will be watched again and again even by new generations in future.

Surprised by Kartik

This is probably the best performance of Kartik Aryan to date. SRK had bazigar. Kartik has Freddy. Only that Freddy is nothing like a regular commercial movie. This movie is gripping and storyline is tight. There are some flaws but ignorable for the most part. Pooja Bedis daughter has evolved a bit. All have acted well but Kartik does stand out. It doesn't have cliches and you feel like you want to know what is coming next. Ending is quite good as well. Not your conventional movie ones. I can only say in the end that you have to watch it to believe it. You won't regret it at all. This actor is the next superstar.

Freddy really rocked here..

Let's start with kartik he is now unstoppable what a hard rocking performance his expressions, his dialogue delivery specially in that witty innocent way, his walk ,his attire ,his crying,his pain,his revenge ,his smile all in this character was outstanding ..such a difficult character was played in a smooth sailing way by Kartik...the director took out the inner art from Kartik even alaya was very good in all aspects of her character

Shashanka developed a love story in a hard dark movie the pace was slow and smooth but it was appropriate to this script and the characters..the movie took perfect slow and steady turns along with good bgm..the main theme of Freddy was less played

A big treat for Kartik fans

A must watch with a drink.

FANTASTIC FILM, maybe not for the weak hearted or younger audience. I'm so glad I watched the film before reading some of these nonsense reviews. It is honestly well worth watching. This film was well written, well, produced and well executed. Fantastic acting by Kartik as always. It was a fresh idea from Bollywood, not the same old same old love story chewed up and rewritten with a million songs. Even with some new unknown mewcomers they fit nicely with the film amd plot, all round great acting from the main actress, its a murder mystery with a twist. Love from the UK great. We all loved it..

Such a masterpiece by Karthik Aryan .

Best acting he ever had .

Screenplay direction is awesome.

Also cinematography placement is good. We somehow those are the people those who can revive Bollywood except khans and Kapoor's those who trying to destroying the industry.

Such serious role not a easy task to put full gravity in the role and deliver as required.

Step by step all things done by Karthik Aryan is really thrilling and appreciable.

Everyone must watch the movie it is totally deserve award if it is fair. Also other Bollywood actor must take a lesson how to deliver such a great work.

Freddy's Search For The Ever Elusive Soulmate

Freddy is a successful dentist looking for the right girl to settle down and have a family with. Freddy has a problem though. His best and seemingly only friend is his turtle, Hardy, and he's shy, awkward and lacks the confidence to feel comfortable around women. His attempts at dating are huge failures but he hopes to find his soulmate. When he meets a beautiful married woman, begins seeing her as a patient and begins to stalk her. His stalking pays off when she agrees to and starts seeing him on a regular basis. He allows himself to fall for her but he's devastated to learn her marriage is abusive. He begins to pursue her with more vigor and as they both fall in love, they must find a way to overcome the obstacle that is her husband. Things take a sinister turn and a game of cat and mouse begins.

I enjoyed this. It was very well acted and the story brings about a great sense of compassion for Freddy's situation. It had a few predictable moments but it was a well thought out movie and one must give credit where credit is due. This gets a solid recommendation from me and although it's not full of action or suspense, I'd still suggest it for people who enjoy a slow thriller.

I had heard great stuff about Freddy, the teaser and songs looked too good which is why I had my reservations because when something looks so great, you don't want to expect too much and be disappointed. But boy, am I glad I watched it immediately. Everyone should watch it asap, before spoilers start taking over social media coz this film is one rollercoaster ride. From feeling bad for the sweet smiled dentist to hating him but also sympathising with him, its no black and white story. Kartik Aaryan is honestly the biggest surprise factor! This Masterpiece By Kartik Aaryan Has Only Con That is it should have been released in Theater Not On Ott. It would have been a Blockbuster...

The movie could have been half as long as it is and been a bit better. So many stretched scenes it got boring!

If this is what people in India are rating high then it's a shame ! Indians need to raise their expectations higher so they don't get fed this crap repeatedly!

Karthik Aryan's acting is a below average actor. Is there such a dearth of good Indian actors that below average like Krthik Aryan are being hailed a hero?!! And I am no fan of the Khans or Kapoors or Kumars either! I wish we had the era back of Devanand ... Jewel Thief was a true thriller. This movie is a blot on thrillers.

No other actor in this movie is even worth noting or wasting any words on in my review!

As another user said, maybe they wasted all their money on Karthik Aryan and had none left for Story or Direction! Shame on Bollywood cinema. They seriously need to up their game.

This movie basically is about a dentist who is introverted socially awkward person,whose only friend is his tortoise "Hardy". He is such a shy person that everytime he meets any women regarding matrimony purpose,he becomes so nervous that he always ends up getting rejected. Now one day he falls for his own patient"Kaynaaz" and slowly she too reciprocated to his love. They were madly in love with each other. But "Kaynaaz" was married with a restaurant owner who used to abuse her physically and verbally. Now this shy and awkward doctor has a plan to remove" Kaynazz's" husband from her life. The plan was successful and they were happy with each other. Now you must be thinking I have given all the spoilers and there is no need to watch this movie. No,this is not the end,practically the movie turns here and the twist it gives you can make your heart bear a little faster. The innocent Kaynazz turns out to be hot and sexy and a cheater too. The shy and awkward dentist turns out to be clever game changer person. Kartik Aryan aka "Freddy" as shy awkward dentist to Kartik Aryan clever and murderer can make the audience fall in love with his acting. The part after intermission can blow your mind. Its all about revenge game and what happens at the end of the movie is breathtaking. Watch this movie especially for Kartik Aryan's acting. Its one time watch movie and I am sure you will not regret watching it.

Kartik Aaryan has truly reinvented himself as Freddy!

Freddy has been a refreshing change from the regular content that we get to watch. Kartik Aaryan has truly made a mark with his scintillating performance as the titular character of Freddy. His body language, mannerism of talking and walking are absolutely spot on when it comes to his character's introvert nature. Be it Kainaaz's transformation or Freddy's slow transition to the dark side, each aspect has been beautifully scripted. Truly a fabulous movie and a path breaking one for Kartik! Friends Don't miss to watch this wonderful movie, after all kartik Aryan is one of the best actor of bollywood.

First half is an extraction that fails to heal but the second half treats it.

Psychological thrillers create that major impact in engaging the audience. It is all about creating a gripping storyline that will keep the audience to the edge of their seat.

Freddy Ginwala is a Parsi dentist with a disturbed childhood past who is extremely shy in nature but lonely in reality. His only friend is his pet turtle, Hardy.

During his shift, he falls in love with Kainaaz who comes in for a wisdom tooth extraction. Kainaaz is often physically abused by her husband, Rustom who owns a eatery.

They manage to start a relationship and plan to get rid of Rustom which becomes successful but only to find out that Kainaaz used Freddy just to be with someone else.

Devastated, Freddy and how he avenges his heartbreak and humiliation is basically what this movie is all about.

For starters, we live on a good narrative for a psychological thriller. The first half of the script was quite stretched and very cliched just showing Freddy's lonely life but the second half manages to salvage it with the revenge factor. In the first half, a little bit of maybe 1-2 subplots.

The film had it all for some such as obsession, a bit of romance, and revenge. This combination did add some spice to the storyline but the first half needed a bit more finesse in writing.

At least the second half has an integral factor to the genre of this film.

Karthik Aaryan should do roles like this more often as comedy gives him a one dimensional applaud when it comes to acting. He was very nuanced and well-balanced in his role as a vengeful psychotic dentist. This one was a save for his career.

Alaya F could give you nepotistic vibes when you see her role as Kainaaz who transitioned from an abused wife to a heartbreaker. She was out of character and just couldn't maintain enough effort for this role.

Music by Pritam for a film of this calibre was average to say the least. Tum Jo Milo had a nice melodious touch to display the romantic elements but Kaala Jaadu felt more like an orchestra that was sung by Arijit Singh.

Cinematography by Ayananka Bose was nice but the direction could've been more crisper especially the editing.

Overall, despite its bumps and Alaya F's underwhelming performance, still a good watch but once would be better.

Kartik Aaryan transforms into Freddy so effortlessly, he's simply UNBELIEVABLE

In the past, Kartik Aaryan has played various funny, outgoing, quirky characters like PKP, SKTKS but this is something else! Freddy is nothing like him. He is unrecognisable to the extent that you get chills watching him on the screen. The detailing in his acting, from unlocking his phone with his index finger to having a different gait for Freddy, to showing hints of a manic obsession, all done toooo well!

And Alaya is an amazing support as Kainaaz, she is hot, she is bitchy and she is promising as always. The film will really keep you hooked through and through so, definitely worth a watch!!

Kartik and alaya have done a decent job. When you begin to watch the movie, it feels great like you have picked up a really good content. I did watched the whole movie and I think despite this ending it could have been better. Some of the points i would like to add is about farm house ending. It should had been a trap for both of them( alaya & her boy friend) . Like police catching them by tracing their mobile location while them trying to kill Freddy. And they both are behind bars for killing Rustom. Hardy was found at alaya's place and Freddy is not like that before. More confident and focussed in choosing another partner. Infact he meets love of his life in the end and they marry according to parsian customs. The current ending of movie shows some psycho lying on the grave and gives him a serial killer vibe. Freddy was a good guy but ending gives him a bad character. In current scenario Freddy can easily be caught if cell phones are traced back to Karjat.

Good but not free of absurdities.

Freddy is an engaging thriller indeed. Every actor did a superb job. Script is tight and on point. However, it suffers from the same problem that most thriller movies suffer from. Every character leaves a mountain of circumstantial and forensic evidence that is very conveniently ignored. Cops are so naive like they were born yesterday.

A strong man sits on the chest of another man and punches on his right cheek and jaw with all his might at least 10 times. And yet, there is no broken tooth, broken cheek or jawbone or broken gums. Just a slight bleeding and the victim gets up completely fine.

If you are willing to ignore such absurdities, Freddy will keep you glued for 2 hours.

Freddy was deadly

This movie was one of a kind. I wish all directors take these kind of movies instead of fighting as if one person can kill the entire gang of killers. There were loopholes in the movie but i think those are avoidable. The lead actor was a class act. Even though i don't understand Hindi i really could relate to the hero what he went through. 10/10 for the Actor, 10/10 for the director and 10/10 for the script. Now people should understand why John Wick killed the gang for "Daisy" and Why Freddy did what he had to for "Hardy". Guys one thing is for sure whatever the situation is I think if we have made a mistake just bloody ask "Sorry", you are not going to die if you ask sorry...this is why i did not like SRK movie "Fan" till the end he never asked sorry.

A somewhat predictable thrilling experience

Smart Introvert

Obviously I don't have idea about this movie and also when I was checking this movie trailer I thought it's just a mad man that live alone. But, after watching this movie I was shocked that it was a real introvert that kill for not saying a "sorry" but the way movie continue it was fabulous.

And from starting I thought a love story and etc etc. But it was osm. Every character was playing a good role. The movie effect was also good. The songs that included was mind-blowing.

The idea or we can say the strategy that the Kartik aryan doing was crazy. I am giving 8 star for there better performance , acting and the effects and song.

Kartik's best performance

Freddy is basically about a dentist who falls in love with a married woman. What follows is a murder and lots of revenge plots.

The overall idea of the plot is interesting but the script is somewhat weak. Some plot twists are unnecessary.

Coming to the performances, Alaya was average at best and protein shake guy hammed his way through. You leave the film feeling so angered by them. Kartik definitely carries the film and really embodied the character and his traits. You really feel for him throughout the film.

Overall, a watchable film but nothing to write home about. Some performances could have been better.

KARTIK ARYAN IS NEXT AKSHAY FOR ME!

Kartik aryan is the one who made this movie just outstanding with his dark performance that crying scene, that torturing scene, that dancing scene makes his acting level 100 times better than now. He looks like new akshay kumar and upcoming hero.

The story of movie is best with some twists and revengeful of a pet like we have seen in john wick before same like that. But still that well planned torturing and murders of kartik means freddy is just wow wow wow! I just loved his planning and acting. The first half of the film could be felt a bit slow because the story is being setting up in that half but as the story continues then the movie becomes just wow. I personally loved it one of my favourite movies. ❤ freddy ginwala.

Good Effort

Dr. Freddy Ginwala. Kartik Aryan has surprised me with his magnificent performance. It was a completely different genre for him, but he did remarkable.

The storyline of the movie was a bit poor, it kept me engaged, but still at so many parts, the story felt illogical and incomplete. If the overall writing were given a more decent efforts, the movie would be a remarkable one. The direction of the movie was average, it could have been a lot better. The songs were decent. The emotional scenes performed by Kartik were unbelievable.

Overall, the Freddy was a good, one time watch experience for me.

Awesome movie

Kartik Aryan's performance is likely his best to date. SRK owned a bazigar. Freddy belongs to Kartik. That being said, Freddy is nothing like a typical blockbuster film. The plot of this compelling film is well-developed. A few imperfections exist, but they are mostly insignificant. Pooja Bedi's daughter has undergone some change. They've all performed admirably, but Kartik really sticks out. There are no clichés, and you get a sense of curiosity about what will happen next. The conclusion is really excellent. Not the typical ones from movies. I urge everyone to watch and enjoy the movie of kartik.

A introvert gentleman to a silent killer

Movie start with a inocent dentist who fall in love with a married woman tortured by his husband and the desparate female lead trap the hero with fake love and killed his hobby through Karthik , and the rest is the plot of the movie ,

How Karthik react the situation when he knows that he has been cheated and used for their advantages ( heroine and her bf) ,

Cinematography was decent with. Good background score and a beautiful song in the end of the movie make me feel like it's not from Bollywood movie ,

And the acting of main characters specially hero is best on his ability , Their is some loopholes in the movie but it's worth watching , i didn't interested at first but after watching i can say nicely produced by bw...

Some of the revenge plot points in this movie might have been inspired by a Spanish movie Sleep Tight. Sleep Tight is an intense, well made drama thriller with solid characters and a gripping storyline, unlike this movie.

The overall "plan" of the Kainaaz and her bf is so stupid. Their actions and the things they do after her plan is revealed and how they treat Kartik Aryan is just so dumb. I am honestly shocked at all the great reviews. I could list down all the stupid things they do which makes you think, are the script writers dumb, or do they think the audience is dumb??

The final standoff at the farm house is just the icing on the cake in terms of dumb things all these characters are doing. Just the fact that the couple even agrees to meet at the guy's secluded farmhouse whose tortoise they killed is laughable.

There is zero character development. From someone who can barely talk to women this guy turns into a cold blooded killer. Oh and that was Kainaaz's plan all along - hope that this most simple, harmless loser can be turned into a killer for her convenience. LOL.

The story writes write a lose, unconvincing, script, and yet it seems to be getting favorable reviews from Indian audiences. Unless we the audience start setting higher standards for ourselves and for the movies we watch, Bollywood will keep churning out movies with mediocre to downright dumb storylines, and the actors and products will keep making money.

I don't understand where all the good scriptwriters / storytellers are in the Indian movie industry.

A must watch psychological revenge crime thriller!

This psychological revenge crime thriller is exceptionally brilliant. What starts off as a slow boring pitch turns an intense nail biting thriller in no time. I always thought Karthik Aryan can't do serious rules but he royally proves it wrong in this. Even others have done decent jobs. This is so well executed that one would easily sink to the depth of it. One of the original Bollywood thriller that I enjoyed after a long time. A wounded lover will always be super dangerous. Wonder how did I miss this for so long. This should have had a theatrical release instead of OTT. A must watch!! My ratings 9/10!
