- Liz and Pete try to rig the audition process for a new cast member, and Jack is shunned because he has bedbugs.
- While Liz and Pete try to rig the audition process, Tracy and Jenna decide it's in their best interest to conduct their own search for a new "TGS" actor. Amidst the audition chaos, Jack faces a more personal issue.—NBC Publicity
- Open with Liz and Pete discussing that after a long search they have finally found their new cast member, Jayden Michael Tyler. They key now is for Jack to think he is making the decision himself, so they have lined up three terrible auditions -- Australia's Jackie Mason, etc.-- to surround Tyler. Jack walks in the room and appears to be itchy.
Jenna suspects there are going to be auditions that day. Tracy doesn't think they have any reason to be threatened. Jenna takes a peak at Kenneth's list of auditions.
Jack tells Kenneth he has bedbugs, currently an epidemic in New York.
Dot Com asks Liz for an audition but is turned down. Jenna walks in and complains that Tyler betrayed her 20 years ago when they were both working on a play. Liz hears Dot Com talking to his mother on the phone and tells him he can audition.
Jack is not being allowed to attend company meetings in person because of his bedbugs.
Pete is furious with Liz for letting Dot Com audition. Adding a fifth audition ruins the "Hornberger Method" of getting a candidate chosen and could throw off the process by opening it up. Immediate Frank walks up and demands he be allowed to audition, as does Brian Williams.
Jenna tells Tracy that Dot Com is auditioning. Worried Dot Com is too talented, he agrees to help Jenna find less-threatening candidates.
Jack decides to see a dermatologist, but Jonathan informs him he can no longer use the company car because of the bedbugs. When a cab won't pick up the scratching Jack he is forced to take the subway. On the subway Jack announces his condition and makes a plea for someone to help him find his connecting train. Everyone turns away in horror.
There are now dozens of auditions waiting in the lobby. Tyler walks in and thanks Liz and Pete for just giving him the opportunity. He seems to love the show and appears incredibly likeable.
Jenna and Tracy take a Hummer and pick up a number of funny strangers on the street.
Back from his appointment, Jack asks Kenneth for a hug to help return his dignity. Even Kenneth turns away.
Liz takes Jenna and Tracy and assures them Tyler's references -- Martin Scorsese, Christopher Walken, Sir Gilbert Godfrey -- all checked out impeccably and we flashback to those three men telling Liz they loved Tyler. Jenna's plan is now to get inside Tyler's head by pretending not to know him.
Dramatically affected by his bedbug experience, Jack wants everyone to be able to audition.
The auditions begin and everyone is terrible.
Tyler actually doesn't remember Jenna, which infuriates her. Pete needs to find one more audition to create the perfect number for his new system.
Tracy goes up to Dot Com and pretends not to remember him. Dot Com turns to Grizz in horror: "Why would he say that to me?" When it is Dot Com's turn to audition he is clearly rattled.
Pete goes on the street outside the studio and finds a human robot mime to bring inside for an audition. Tyler's audition piece involves him doing impressions of Martin Scorsese, Christopher Walken and Gilbert Godfrey. Liz immediately knows something is wrong.
Liz confronts Tyler about his references and he eventually admits to lying about his references. Tyler appears to be borderline insane and Liz realizes he has to go.
Liz tells Jenna she was right about Tyler. They are now going to start the audition process over again.
To Liz shock, Jack tells her they are going to hire the robot mime for the show. He was the only one to shake Jack's hand.
