As part of the Bloodshots 48 Hour Film contest sponsored by Fantastic Fest, each team was given a specific horror genre and type of weapon used in their movie. Actual production of this movie took 13 hours after pre-production with a few hours left on the clock.
Most of the movie was shot in HDV 60i to give a "reality show look" and with two Sony Z1u cameras simultaneously. This greatly sped up the production process which was then edited in Final Cut Pro using the multi-clip function. The beginning was shot with a single HVX200 in DVCPROHD 24p, then tinted to give a "70's-sploitation film look".
The idea behind this short film was the inspiration for the feature film Untitled Horror Comedy (2009). Michael Charron and Ari Said met while filming this short and went on to write the script for the feature together.
