- After Abby is voted off campus following the latest weigh-in, the remaining nine contestants are no longer in teams, but are back to being individuals. They are also off to Washington, D.C. to make a difference in the public health of America. They are recruiting people to participate in a mass workout held by Bob and Jillian in front of the Washington Monument. The contestant who recruits the most people gets an advantage at the week's main challenge. That challenge is a four stage race, the bottom contestants who will be dropped from the race after each stage. The winner of the challenge will receive immunity at this week's weigh-in. Also during their stay in the national capital, the contestants meet with federal politicians to discuss the epidemic of obesity in the United States, and meet with White House chefs. Instead of heading back to campus, they hold this week's weigh-in in front of the Lincoln Memorial.—Huggo
- The nine remaining contestants head to Washington D.C., for an adventure that will take them from the steps of the Lincoln Memorial to the inside of the White House kitchen. After arriving in the nation's capitol, the players learn from host Alison Sweeney that they'll now be competing as individuals rather than by teams. And their first challenge is a big one - to race around the National Mall and try and bring as many people as possible back to the Washington monument for a public workout with trainers Bob Harper and Jillian Michaels, for the biggest workout in Biggest Loser history! Later, the trainers and contestants meet with members of Congress to talk about the importance of health and nutrition education, especially in schools. Then the players engage in a wild competition involving iconic D.C. landmarks before visiting the White House, where they get to prepare a delicious salad with the chef using vegetables from the White House garden. Later, the contestants weigh in by the steps of the Lincoln Memorial before another elimination round sends a contestant home for an emotional reunion with their family.—NBC Publicity
- We open with Alison giving the gang a long speech about their responsibility to help others learn about obesity and make the same changes they have begun. How are they doing that? With a trip to D.C., of course.
The nine remaining contestants arrive in Washington and Alison tells them the teams are being dissolved. They will contest the rest of the season as individuals. Alison says they will be visiting the White House and reminds Shay she is only two pounds away from leaving the 400s.
Up first is a Pop Challenge: Bob and Jillian will be giving a public workout at the Washington Monument. Each contestant has to try and get as many people to attend the workout as possible. The one with the most people wins an advantage, and will also be able to take their team to lunch.
The gang walks around downtown D.C. soliciting folks. Amanda is recognized by a lot of folks from last year's finale. Allen heads right to a firehouse and gets help from his brothers. Ultimately it comes down to Liz and Allen, with Liz getting one more person than Allen to win the challenge.
Bob and Jillian conduct the workout. Bob instructs the crowd from a stage while Jillian walks around and yells at strangers. Liz takes her team to a national fast food chain for lunch.
The contestants meet with several U.S senators to discuss the issue of obesity in America's youth. Daniel talks about the problems he dealt with in high school as he continued to gain weight. Bob and Jillian say a few words, as does Rebecca.
New challenge time: The contest will be in four stages, with the winner getting immunity this week. Contestants will be eliminated during each stage. The first stage is a mile run. For winning the Pop Challenge Liz can choose to sit out one of the first three stages. She elects to hang onto her free pass.
Only six of the nine will advance from the run. Unlike the season premiere, everyone handles the run without issue. Rebecca, Daniel and Allen come across first, followed by Amanda, Rudy and Liz. Danny, Tracy and Shay finish, but are eliminated.
The next stage consists of carrying pennies up the Watergate steps. The first person to fill a tube at the top of the steps wins the challenge. Liz elects to skip this stage, meaning the first three finishers move on. Primarily because of his gigantic hands, Rudy wins rather easily. Daniel finishes second and Rebecca edges Allen for the final spot.
Stage three has the last four contestants balancing on a narrow platform with a pilate's ball held above their head. The last two standing advance to round four. Daniel falls off quickly, followed a few minutes later by Liz. Rudy and Rebbeca will compete for immunity.
The final stage consists of Rudy and Rebecca standing in front of a step aerobics step. The first one to step onto and off of the step 206 times (the total number of contestants in show history) wins immunity. After an even start, it quickly becomes apparent Rebecca is too fast for Rudy. She wins the challenge by about 15 steps.
Bob has a one-on-one convo with Amanda about her emotional meltdown last week. He talks to her about being focused on her diet this week and gives her a few tips on avoiding unhealthy snacks.
The gang heads to the White House and meets with the White House's assistant chef. They pick vegetables from Michelle Obama's garden and make an enormous salad in the White House kitchen.
Last Chance workout time. Jillian has the gang on some steps. Bob talks about the difficulty working out on vacation with the streamlined schedule. Jillian gets up close and personal with Tracey and the two seem to come to an understanding. Bob is able to get Amanda to sprint the treadmill minute that caused her the trouble last episode.
Time to weigh-in. Having immunity, Rebecca goes first. She has lost four pounds (223 to 219) and will be safe this week.
Shay is up first among the rest of the eight fighting to stay on the show. She has dropped nine pounds and at 393 is finally out of the 400s. Tracey is next and tosses up a clunker. She lost only three pounds, moving from 197 to 194. After two bad weeks Daniel has a good one, dropped 11 pounds from 272 to 261. He is seven pounds away from losing 200 pounds since the start of last season. Daniel is ahead of Shay and Tracey and safe this week.
Allen drops nine pounds (262 to 253) which moves him to second and has him safe for the week. Danny has yet another strong week, dropping 12 pounds from 345 to 333. That percentage has him second and also safe. Rudy has lost nine pounds (341 to 332), meaning he has lost 110 pounds in eight weeks. With two left to weigh-in, Tracey and Shay are the two contestants below the yellow line.
Liz joins Tracey at the bottom, her three pound loss (221 to 218) putting her in seventh. This means she will definitely be below the yellow line this week and will go up against Tracey unless Amanda loses at least three pounds. Amanda stays alive, having dropped seven pounds from 214 to 207. It is her biggest loss of the season. The gang will be voting between Tracey and Liz.
Liz tells everybody she wants to stay on the show, that she doesn't feel her work is done. Tracey is far more emotional and pleads with everybody to keep her on the show. Daniel asks Tracey about her goals on the show, and she assures him she is there for her health rather than the money.
Up first to vote is Amanda. She votes for Tracey, citing her dishonesty at several points in the season. Shay votes for Liz, saying that she didn't fight hard enough to stay on the show. Everyone else votes for Tracey, several of them mentioning her "game playing" earlier in the season as the reason. Tracey is not the Biggest Loser.
We catch up with Tracey via video. She has lost an additional 41 pounds at home, down 85 since starting the show. We watch her complete the mile course from the season premier with relative ease.
