- All of the contestants from this season return for a special reunion and a chance to weigh in one last time - and show America how much weight they've all lost since beginning their weight-loss journeys. There are four contestants left, but America has voted on the two that fell below the yellow line in last week's episode to choose who will be the third finalist in the game. After America's vote is revealed and the third finalist is announced, the eliminated player will then weigh in with the other 12 eliminated contestants to compete for the $100,000 "at home" prize. Then it's the moment viewers have been waiting for, when one of the three finalists will be named this season's "Biggest Loser."—NBC Publicity
- Amanda and Liz, below the yellow line on the latest weigh-in, learn who America voted for to proceed to the final three with Danny and Rudy. The thirteen non-finalist contestants weigh-in to see who has the highest percentage of weight loss to earn the $100,000 "at home" prize. One contestant who didn't win the at home prize is nonetheless thrilled with achieving a personal weight-loss goal. Beyond the winner of the at home prize, Dr. Huizenga has some good news specifically for Daniel and Shay. Shay also receives some added incentive to lose more weight leading up to the season 9 finale. And Alexandra receives a surprise courtesy of Antoine. The final three weigh-in last, to see who will take home the $250,000 grand prize and the title of season 8's Biggest Loser. The title winner is by happenstance the person who had the biggest percentage of weight loss among all sixteen original contestants of the season.—Huggo
- Its season finale time, folks! Are you ready for enough look-backs and retrospectives to choke a horse?
After a complete season recap, Alison tells us we will be starting with the national vote between Liz and Amanda. After a commercial break we learn Amanda was the winner and will join Rudy and Danny in the final three.
First up is the at-home competition for biggest loss among those eliminated. The first group is Antoine, Alexandra, Sean and Julio. Alison asks Sean about the recent birth of his third child who is named (wait for it!) Jillian. Antoine and Alexandra talk about their romantic relationship.
After a quick conversation with the trainers we look back at Jillian screaming at Alexandra. She has lost 91 pounds, falling from 309 to 218.
The video of Antoine shows him 'finding' Alexandra and their relationship after being voted-off the show. He needs to have lost more than 108 pounds to move ahead of his girlfriend. He does, having dropped 152 pounds (367 to 215).
The video for Sean is of his finding out the gender of his recently born child. Sean needs to have lost more than 183 to take the lead from Antoine. He is shy of that, having lost 155 (444 to 289).
Julio's video is of Jillian yelling at him for being on death's door. He steps on the scale needing to have lost 168 pounds to take the lead. He does it, dropping 180 (from 407 to 227), a loss of more than 44 percent of his starting weight.
The next four come out on stage: Coach Mo, Dina, Abby and Tracey. Alison asks Abby about her journey from losing her family to the point she he has reached. Tracey is asked about what she went through on Day 1, which Alison calls "something very few people will understand." She says it made her a better person.
Up next to weigh-in is Mo. After looking back at his dealing with injury while at the ranch he gets on the scale. Needing to have lost 156 pounds to knock of Julio, Mo is down 92 (355 to 263). He seems genuinely pleased with the number and points to the sky.
We look back at Dina and her plyometric box struggles before she steps on the scale needed a 111 pound loss to catch Julio. She comes up short, down 79 pounds from 253 to 174. Like Moe she is happy with the number.
Abby is next and we see the emotional speech she gave after being voted off. Needing 109 pounds to catch Julio, Abby comes up just short, down 100 pounds from 247 to 147. She laughs and flexes her muscles, having lost more than 40 percent of her starting show weight.
We see Tracey looking back at her season premiere disaster. She needs to have lost at least 110 pounds to catch Julio. Starting at 250, Tracey is down 118 to 132. With a staggering 47.2 percent weight loss she has taken over the at-home lead.
The final four at-homers are Shay, Daniel, Rebecca and Allen. Both Rebecca and Allen look like they might give Tracey a run for her money. Alison asks Shay about the difficulty being the heaviest-ever competitor on the show. We then get a comment from Dr. Robert Huizenga who comments how remarkable Daniel and Shay's weight loss has been. He says they have gained 23 and 13 years of life, respectively.
We see Shay collapsing in tears during one of Jillian's workouts/counseling sessions. Shay needs to have lost 224 pounds to catch Tracey. She does not do it, dropping 172 pounds (476 to 304).
For Daniel we see glimpses of him starting when he first got on the show. Starting with his this-season weight (312 pounds), Daniel needs to have lost 147 pounds to catch Tracey. He is down 111 to 201 pounds.
Rebecca's clip is of her running the half-marathon and crying. She needs to have more than 131 pounds to catch Tracey. Rebecca pulls it off, having dropped 139 pounds to 140. Since the start of the season she has lost almost half her body weight. Not surprisingly, she cries.
We see Allen during his makeover and talking about his becoming a liability as a firefighter. He needs to have lost more than 161 pounds to overtake Rebecca. He doesnt get there, instead dropping 116 (325 to 209). Given how Liz looks (no offense) this all but guarantees Rebecca will win the $100,000.
We see Liz hanging with Danny during the season. She needs to have dropped more than 133 pounds to catch Rebecca. Liz has lost 91, falling from 267 to 176.
Rebecca jumps around and screams, then mumbles something about knowing she could do this. They then call Shay up and ask her to return for the Season 9 finale. For every pound she loses between now and next May, Subway will give her $1,000.
Next is a lengthy vignette on Rudy's progress throughout the season.
Then Antoine calls over Alexandra, drops to his knee and proposes. (Seriously.) She says yes.
After an update on the show's charitable work, we get a similar videos on Danny's season and Amanda's season.
With Amanda already on stage, Alison brings out Rudy, who looks freakishly skinny. He tells Alison the key to his weight loss was eliminating the excuses.
Danny is next to reach the stage and he looks almost preposterously slender. He says at home no one recognizes him because he's so much smaller than he was on the show.
After yet another vignette, Amanda gets on the scale to set the bar. She has dropped 87 pounds, from 250 to 163, for a percentage of 34.8 percent.
Another video and Rudy gets up on the scale. He has lost 234 pounds (442 to 208) for a percentage of just less than 53 percent. Alison seems more excited than Rudy.
Though it seems like a foregone conclusion (Danny looks just that skinny), Alison tells Danny he needs to have lost 227 pounds. Danny's looks were not deceiving, as he is down 239 pounds, from 430 to 191. It is a percentage of just under 56 and the confetti begins to fly.
