Review of both parts -

I absolutely adore this story to death, might be the greatest story of The Sarah Jane Adventures, superior plot, we get to see THE DOCTOR!!! Man, he was the best. The cliffhanger was so well done, probably the only Wedding cliche that I accept! The camerawork was superior, god damn.

WARNING: SPOILERS FOR FAREWELL, SARAH JANE...

Yet again, this should've been the finale for Season 3 of The Sarah Jane Adventures. We perhaps get to see the Trickster's true defeat, but, I think he returned in Farewell, Sarah Jane? Eh, who knows for now.

*sigh* I really, really wanted the Brigadier to appear in this episode to finally met Tenth, it's very disappointing that Nicholas Courtney had health problems, damn, it would be awesome to see the Brigadier to reunite with The Doctor, his trusted ally who also helped UNIT through it's times.

The Ending was satisfying enough.

10/10!

Wedding Belle. Awesome.

Sarah Jane has fallen in love and agreed to marry Peter Dalton, unhappy with the speed of things, Clyde and Rani investigate him.

There is so much going on here, it's quite wonderful, up there with the show's best episodes. Moat of the episode is spent showing Sarah Jane having a normal life, doing ordinary things, and it's sweet, it makes a nice change. The bombshell comes right at the end, it's the crossover we've all been waiting for.

The Trickster has been the standout villain on the show, and again he's used to perfection here.

Lovely use of humour throughout, Gita has some wonderful lines throughout, Peter and Gita, I laughed out loud.

Sladen does look so very beautiful in the wedding dress, I bet she enjoyed making this episode very much.

You may question the scheduling a little, surprised me that this wasn't the series finale, it had that epic feel to it.

10/10.

Review of both parts:

This story features Sarah Jane having met a man and them falling in love, quickly developing to getting married. Not everyone is convinced that the man is genuine and fear some sort of alien influence. On the day of the wedding there are dramatic events and we get a guest appearance by David Tennant as the 10th Doctor.

The drama and mystery in Part 1 is strong and the cliffhanger sequence is brilliant and exciting with the thrilling arrival of The Doctor. Part 2 goes on to be a great mixture of fun, darkness, moving drama as well as suspense and action. It is one of the best stories of The Sarah jane Adventures and a wonderful way to link in to Doctor Who.

Lis Sladen is as wonderful as ever as Sarah Jane and both her and Nigel Havers as her intended husband make scenes extremely engaging and ultimately very emotional and touching.

The teenage companions are all good but it is the arrival of the fabulous David Tennant that adds extra joy to this story. It is great to see the young team finally meet the hero they have heard so much about and see the TARDIS in action.

This is a fantastic adventure.

My ratings: Parts 1 & 2 - 9.5/10.
