For years, Lou Valoze ran one of the most dangerous and successful series of undercover operations conducted by a federal law enforcement agency. He turned these operations from disrupting small time fencing schemes to infiltrating major criminal organizations. During its run from 2006-2014, Lou Valoze's fictitious businesses allowed the agents to take thousands of weapons out of circulation and millions of dollars of illegal drugs off the street. This episode also delves into the dark reality of living a double-life and how it becomes difficult to tell the difference between the good guys and bad guys.

It was a typical Friday afternoon for DEA Special Agent Kevin Stephens. He and his partner Murph were part of the cover team for a 17 kilo buy-bust of cocaine that was supposed to go down the day before. Everybody was ready to take the traffickers down, do the paperwork and take the weekend off. The informant who set up the deal had a long-term relationship with DEA, and had successfully arranged dozens of prior buys. It was all going according to plan...until it didn't. The traffickers were planning to rip the undercovers off, and came armed. Shots were fired, Kevin was severely injured, and the informant was killed. This is the first time ever Kevin and Murph discuss that afternoon in Hialeah, Florida.

May 20, 2010 was going to be 'just' an office day for Arkansas Game and Fish conservation officer Michael Neal. Up most of the night working a second job to make ends meet, Mike was looking forward to a relaxing day. When he got back into his Game and Fish truck at 11:45 AM, multiple radios were buzzing with "Officer Down" - the call no law enforcement officer wants to hear. Two West Memphis, Arkansas police had been shot and killed during a traffic stop by a father and son team of dangerous sovereign citizens. The suspects were spotted by two sheriff deputies in a Wal Mart parking lot. The suspects shot both deputies, critically wounding one. The escape was stopped by Michael Neal, who rammed their vehicle at 55 mph, getting into a deadly shootout at seven feet with both suspects. This is a chilling story you absolutely don't want to miss.

Joaquín "El Chapo" Guzmán had escaped two times before from top-security prisons. The most powerful drug trafficker in the world was responsible for thousands of deaths as he headed up the brutal Sinaloa cartel. Through the use of tunnels and distribution corridors, El Chapo exported more drugs to the United States than any other trafficker in history. Forbes even ranked him as one of the most powerful people in the world, rivaling Pablo Escobar. His days on the run were about to come to a violent end. DEA agents Paul Craine and Abe Perez spearheaded the hunt for El Chapo. Partnering closely with the Mexican Marines, an elite squad of special forces, they were determined to bring El Chapo's violent reign of terror to an end once and for all. This time, El Chapo wouldn't be going to a Mexican prison - he was destined for extradition to the United States. This special two-part episode tells the stories of Paul Craine and Abe Perez including a bloody shootout at a resort town, a race to safety at the US border, and a final ferocious confrontation with El Chapo.

Michele Leonhart was born to be an investigator. It started when someone stole her Huffy bicycle and she created the Little Girls Investigation Club to find it. She was so determined to get into law enforcement after graduating college that she applied to over fifty departments. Everyone rejected her, except Baltimore. After a chance encounter at a gas station with a drug dealer she set her sights on becoming a DEA agent. Working undercover in Minnesota, the target was a trafficker connected to Pablo Escobar. The operation was going smoothly until she ran into him at the Federal building. Michele continued to make big cases, including bringing down the world's largest cocaine paste producer. Her leadership resulted in a presidential appointment to become the first female DEA agent to head the agency, serving both President George W. Bush and Barack Obama.

It's the most dangerous game of cat and mouse there is, and the price of failure is death. ATF Agent Dominick Polifrone goes undercover to catch one of the most dangerous contract killers for the mob ever known. Richard Kuklinski, The Iceman, was a brutal and stone-cold hitman for many of the mob families in New York and New Jersey but had evaded arrest for years. To catch The Iceman and bring him to justice once and for all, Polifrone will have to use all of his skills developed in building cases against organized crime over the past several years. One mistake, one wrong step, and it won't just be the end of the investigation. It could mean The Iceman notches another victim.

A decorated Vietnam veteran, who volunteered instead of being drafted, was searching for the same sense of purpose he left over in the rice paddies of Southeast Asia. Many of his buddies never made it home and Ken wanted to find something that could replace the feeling of combat. He became a lawyer, but soon found himself spending all his money on cocaine, booze and partying. Threatened with disbarment he got his act together...for a while. A chance encounter led him to becoming one of the biggest bulk-cash money launderers in the world. Tens of millions of dollars was routine for Ken. In ten years, and not a single close call with the authorities. But his luck was about to run out. The IRS brought an end to Ken's charmed life. After leaving prison, another chance encounter led to working with the same people who had put him in prison. This is a story of service, a fall from grace, and redemption.

Cheri Oz was tired of the cold. When the temperature hit -70 one night, it was time to move. Her trip to Phoenix would put her on a path to working as a police officer and undercover detective with Phoenix PD to heading up the DEA field division in Phoenix as the Special Agent in Charge. In addition to her law enforcement accomplishments, Cheri also has a place in the Baseball Hall of Fame. A fitting achievement for someone who went from a ball girl for the Chicago White Sox to working undercover against the leader of the Hells Angels to taking down some of the most dangerous members of organized criminal gangs.

Luis Navia said there's no reason he ever should have been in the drug trafficking business. He grew up in a wealthy and privileged family who escaped Cuba and Fidel Castro just in time. Luis attended the best schools and universities. He had everything...but it wasn't enough. Over the next 25 years he ascended to the top ranks of traffickers, working with the most violent and dangerous organizations and people. He survived two kidnappings and avoided being arrested. He was virtually unknown to law enforcement and only a small, inner circle knew who 'El Senador' actually was. That all changed with Operation Journey, a 12-nation global investigation that eventually ensnared Luis, landing him in a federal prison in the United States. This is one of the most inside-inside stories ever told.

For nine days in February 2013, ex-LAPD cop Christopher Dorner went on a killing rampage. After being fired in 2009, Dorner vowed to 'get even' with anyone who wronged him. The results? Two innocent victims killed on February 3, one of them the daughter of a former LAPD captain who represented Dorner at his termination hearing. Dorner then ambushed an LAPD officer on February 7th, wounding him. One minute later, Dorner ambushed two Riverside police officers. One officer died and the other was severely wounded. But Dorner wasn't finished. A final gun battle happens in Big Bear. Detective Josh MacKay is killed, and Deputy Alex Collins is struck five times. Near death, the story of how Alex survived and went on to fulfill his dream of being a SWAT officer defies the odds. Alex describes the events leading up to the shootout, his recovery, and what he's doing now.

Rick Massa was a member of LAPD SWAT, some of the most elite operators in law enforcement. All of their training would be put to the test on February 28, 1997. For two years the High Incident Bandits had robbed armored cars and Bank of America branches. This duo was heavily armed with body armor and automatic weapons. They were the first bank robbers known to use armored-piercing ammunition. This was a nightmare scenario for law enforcement. Two LAPD officers headed to another call did a double-take when they spotted the dangerous pair walking into a Bank of America. The resulting gun fight was the biggest in US law enforcement history. This is a story of uncommon valor against the most dangerous of odds.
