DI Martin Denson knows exactly what he's doing, he's worked out who the killer is, and knows exactly how to force the killers hand, and force him out into the open.
A fairly dramatic conclusion, the first two episodes have a very cosy, village murder mystery feel to them, this third part is a more action based drama, with assassination attempts and aeroplane chases. In some ways it feels at odds with earlier episodes, but as dramatic conclusions go it's a good one.
Barkeworth is excellent once again, Joanna Dunham is also very good here, given way more to do, including a rather unusual action sequence.
Durbridge's mysteries have a very distinctive pattern, there are always photographs present, small, everyday props are made into something big, and there's normally a dramatic conclusion. The Passenger has all of those, but the ending belongs more to a Paul Temple mystery.
Not as good as the first two episodes, but all in all it concludes an excellent drama very well. 7/10
