- Liz and Pete are forced to search for new talent, but don't want the writers to know. Meanwhile, a dispute over Jack's bonus causes Kenneth to start a page strike, Jenna goes "Country," and Tracy tries to relate to the average person.
- Jack informs Liz, Tracy and Jenna that "TGS" needs to make immediate adjustments to become more relatable. In an effort to do their part, Jenna decides to makeover her image, while Tracy attempts to regain touch with the common man. In the meantime, Jack sends Liz and Pete on a mission to scout new "TGS" talent while Kenneth leads a Page strike.—NBC Publicity
- Open with everyone eating at a restaurant called Season 4. Jack tells them the slow economy means they need to tighten the purse strings. On the way out, Jack tells Liz she needs to start searching for a new cast member that will appeal to the masses.
Pete tells Liz they need to keep the search a secret.
Kenneth goes to Jack with a time card concern. His latest memo said pages aren't allowed to work more than 16 hours a day. Since he always does, he doesn't want to sign a lie. Jack tells him they have no extra money and he must sign the card.
On the sly, Pete and Liz discuss new talent they are going to check out.
Tracy is mad at Dot Come and Grizz for allowing him to lose touch with the common man. They bring him a custodian named Rally. They have nothing in common.
Kenneth accidentally gets Jack's paycheck. After seeing the check, he demands the pages get their overtime back. Kenneth threatens a page strike if Jack doesn't sign a piece of paper saying he is a liar.
Jack walks into work past the page strike. Liz complains to him about having to find a new cast member. Jenna is offering to go country to help the show. With the phones ringing off the hook, Jack tells her he is going to end the strike.
Tracy struggles as he walks the streets trying to connect with average people.
Jack brings in Lenny for help breaking the strike. Lenny suggests infiltrating the strike.
The writers figure out that Liz and Pete are up to something. To throw them off the new cast member scent, they admit to having an affair. Pete's wife shows up with Liz's lost wallet and forces them to spill the beans. Josh is so upset by the news that he quits.
Another union (Santas) has joined Kenneth's strike. Kenneth seems suspicious that Lenny is a real page.
Struggling to find people to connect with, Tracy finds his way into the page strike
Jenna tells Liz she is upset about a promo she has to do and doesn't know why Liz hasn't been around. Liz confesses what is really going on and Jenna ends up in the strike. Tracy realizes they are searching for a new cast member.
Jack wants struggling strike-buster Lenny to step up the pressure on Kenneth.
After looking to a photo of Richard Nixon for advice, Jack goes to see Kenneth. He tells Kenneth that his side as the moral high ground and that you win. His response is to threaten shutting down the page program if Kenneth and his peers aren't back at work the following day.
With Josh gone and Tracy and Jenna still on strike, Pete and Liz can't figure out how to pull together a new show.
The following day Jack sees the strike is still going on. Kenneth calls Jack's bluff that if the pages were gone, Jack would have to pay new employees a higher wage to perform the page duties. Jack buckles and signs the piece of paper admitting his dishonesty. Kenneth ends the strike.
