Midge is smoking a cigarette at the theater. She is called away and tosses the cigarette into the alley. Certainly she would have taken one last deep drag before throwing it away.
Midge smokes cigarettes in only 2 or 3 episodes this season, highly unlikely, but especially if she is to be Joan Rivers.
