Excited for All American:Homecoming next year.

Very good backdoor pilot. I instantly liked the setting and the characters. Damon reminds me of an early Spencer. I guess that's why they bonded so well in those instances.

Back to the episode: It was nice to see Spencer, Liv, Jordan and Simone let loose and enjoy their time at Bringston. Simone is gonna it in really well. And oop that Spencer and Liv scene???? Oop! Awesome. Can't wait for next week.

I'm only on episode two of this series; yet, I can already see that his show is a bit of Drumline mixed with A Different World, Growinish, and certainly the best episodes of All American. In other words, it has no choice but to be heartwarming, entertaining, enlightening, and a culture explosion for anyone who has never attended an HBCU. Just watching this series reminds me how lucky I am that I did.

Pure Filler

I get that this episode is a backdoor pilot, but I really couldn't stand this episode. This season was already a confusing mess, and to throw this episode in makes everything even worse.

We see the gang visit the college Simone is going to. But the episode barely focuses on that, and more so focus on what typical activities everyone else does. I don't care about Simone's tennis interests. I don't care about this baseball player who is built up as this strange love interest. He exchanges with Spencer for one scene and it didn't feel deep at all. This episode is just pure filler in an already filler-coated season.
