Really bad acting
kategobe22 August 2022
The story isn't anything knew, which I expected and am okey with. The major problem is the acting of Eric Lutz. As the male lead, his acting performance in this movie is comparable to a middle school musical; overdone and fake. His acting is erratic at times when he needs to take an action like opening the car door, making a surprise face, or pointing at something. The rest of the time he seems to zone out and not be present in his role. He seamingly can't stand still and there is no sense of authenticity in his words, it's very cringy.

The rest of the cast was fine although both "Heather" and "Grace" are quite childish characters. It seems to be part of their role which would've been fine but the middle school acting of Lutz means that basically all the younger adults comport themselves as young teenagers.

Waste of time.

This was really bad. Script was such a disaster that I couldn't tell if the actors did a good job or not. I gave myself a 1 for being idiotic enough to watch the whole thing.

Blue Moon Bomb
Luvhallmark6 August 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Wow wow wow, this is one of the worst movies I think I've ever watched. The script was horrible, the actors... overacted!! I'm sure they're very nice in true life and I take no joy in writing a bad review, what I'd really like to know is what on earth were the writers of this mess thinking. The male lead in a dress was a huge flop, that particular scene was a train wreck. The ex girlfriend intentionally trying to keep her man because of her father's plot to build a mall or something didn't work AT ALL.. she completely overacted each and every scene she was in. I kept thinking, is this supposed to be funny or is it supposed to be real. Nothing at all worked in this movie, the female lead's boss was not believable, unprofessional in his approach (I know this was the script) but honestly, I cannot believe this movie was ever made. The blue moon ball had about 8 people there... I could go on and on but I will stop here and again say... the blue moon ball was a total bomb.

Was something cut?

Warning: Spoilers
The acting is meh, at least there were very few Pinter pauses and weird inflections. I can't say I was a fan of the script. It kind of jumped all over the place without resolving too much. There was a hinted romance with her mom and the sheriff that never went anywhere.

They kept putting in moments that taken separately were kind of cute but felt forced. However, what led me tobspeak up was the rushed ending. There was a scene where at the last minute a new conflict was introduced and then it cuts to a later book signing with zero explanation about how the conflict was resolved. I wasn't expecting much from a two bit romance but just adding a conflict you didn't intend to resolve is a bit embarrassing.

Really Bad and I wanted to like...
JazzCat6411 August 2022
I am a NEW fan of Ashley Newbrough, but she takes parts with terrible male leads so bad casting and horrible writing. Where do they get these guys? She has a look and personality that would fit almost any race, so the color of the male lead doesn't matter but focus on fit and chemistry between the two leads then adjust the story accordingly based on the couple. It's easier to do that than continually putting these bad actors with a lot of these leading ladies. Ashley is one those women along with Tori Anderson. For this movie, I didn't like the doctor either, but he was better than the actual male lead. If it's low budget which it seems like most of these are, you still can get quality actors if you look outside the standard umbrella. Note Casting Directors: on camera the male and female leads should be equal in height or male taller. Real life this doesn't matter because love is love but on camera, it doesn't look all that appealing.

School play? A diabolical disaster.
Design8818 February 2023
Warning: Spoilers
This was too unbearable to watch more than 20minutes of. The acting is abysmal especially the lead actor playing Sean Green. The script is really bad too but it might have been slightly better if actually acted by any talent. I can only think the lead actor's Dad paid for the movie to be made with all his friends.

The script seemed to be starting off ok with a potentially promising premise but the acting was so bad I just couldn't continue to watch.

The lead actress was so disconnected from the project it just felt like she was in acting class rushing her lines most of the time.

She has promised to fulfill her obligation of producing her third book on schedule but has writer's block with only has a few days left before she's due to submit the galleys.

He suggests she go home to remember how to write about romance and she takes him literally and goes home.

As soon as she gets there she bumps into her old flame but he doesn't mention he's in a relationship with her old school friend Heather. In fact he tries everything to avoid mentioning it. The girlfriend is like a caricature she overacts so badly.

There's a scene where Heather trips on the porch stairs and Grace and Sean try to help her and drive her to the hospital. It's like a high school play the acting and direction are so bad. He manages to delay the girls finding out about each other and Grace rushes back to her mother declaring that she has finally found the ending for her book. She's had an unrealistic timeframe to begin with but then decides to help Sean write his proposal to save the mansion before the blue moon ball in a few days. Absolutely ridiculous. They wait for the response which seems to only take a few hours rather than weeks and they start congratulating each other for all they've done to save it. Did I miss three weeks somewhere?

I had to sneak back in to check how bad it gets and I despair. Grace catches Sean with Heather and is furious. She gets a call to return to her publisher in LA who tells her that she's a failure. Sean shows up at her mother's door with a broken 'cinderella' shoe ready to try to win her back. He shows up in LA at Grace's apartment with the shoe and an empty box wearing a really ugly dress which is so cringeworthy. He asks her to the ball and she wears the dress which would be at least 5 sizes too big for her. Then he asks her to marry him and introduces her to Heather as a potential business partner which they immediately jump at hours after hating each other. Somewhere in between she tells the pathetic guy who's followed her from LA that she couldn't be in a relationship with him. Sean gives up his dreams follow her. Her third book is successful and she and Sean are happily in love.

The End.
