Emmy Clarke in Monk (2002)

Goofs

Mr. Monk and the Critic

Monk

Edit

Continuity

When Natalie walks into the police station, she puts her purse down on the table twice.
After the show, when Monk and Natalie come to the hotel, Stottlemeyer stands up from the car. After the cut, he stands up again.
When Monk goes into the restroom, the attendee's arms switch between shots, from folded in front of him to behind his back to folded in front again mid-conversation.
When you first see Natalie and Monk in the theater seats, the Playbill that Natalie is reading is folded back, so that she could only be seeing a single page. When the jump shot occurs, the Playbill in Natalie's hand is now open flat, and both pages are viewable.
At the newspaper office, while the critic is paying for his delivered food, Natalie's arms instantly go from by her side to folded in front of her.

Factual errors

When Natalie is arrested, Disher says that they can't match the bite mark on the strawberry pastry in the hotel room to the half-bitten Chinese dumpling Natalie retrieved from the killer's trash because they couldn't get a cast made as the strawberry was too soft. However, DNA forensics would have revealed that both bite marks came from the same person.
Monk reads Julie's admission letter as 101 Montly Court with a ZIP Code of 98420. Actually, there is no such ZIP Code in the United States. If this ZIP Code did exist, it would be in Tacoma, Washington. The University of Berkeley's Department of Theater and Dance's address is incorrect, too.

Incorrectly regarded as goofs

While Natalie and Julie wait eagerly to see if Julie got into Berkeley, Monk reads the one-page letter. This can't be a positive admission letter. There's always additional info in the envelope, if you got into a school - the famous thick envelope.

That's actually not always true. Some schools send an acceptance letter and then send an "admissions packet" later on. It depends on the timing of several things, including when you apply, when admissions end, when the admissions packet is ready, and more.

Miscellaneous

The vet who sits next to Monk in the theater is supposed to have an arm missing, but his actual arm is hiding as a bulge under his jacket.
