- Alex Man, one of Hong Kong's most intriguing actors and also a Golden Horse Award winner, dominated a number of well-made TVB dramas back in the early 90s. From The Justice Of Life (1989), Where I Belong (1990), The Big Family (1991) to The Key Man made in 1992, he has always been leading the cast of TVB's anniversary dramas. The Key Man, like all other anniversary dramas, comprises of an extraordinarily strong cast and a serious production team led by the well-known producer Lau Ka Ho. The whole crew even went to the United States to shoot the drama so that Hong Kong audience can enjoy the beautiful scenery there while watching this exciting 30-episode drama. The story revolves around the complicated relationships between two big families in Hong Kong - the Hung's and the Lok's. Alex Man of course delivers his best performance. Idy Chan, famous for her unbeatable portrayal as the Dragon Girl in the 1983 version of the Return of the Condor Heroes, and Louise Lee, famous actress in the 80s, both bring the viewers surprises in their re-appearances on TV after all these years. Miss Hong Kong Monica Chan also shows great improvements in this drama and impresses the viewers a lot. Comedian Dicky Cheung and other veterans are also indispensable to the overwhelming success of the drama. No wonder The Key Man succeeded in attaining the highest ratings ever among all Hong Kong TV dramas in 1992.
