Storyline
Plot Summary |
Like a baby bird, who is afraid of leaving the nest. Shannon begins having doubts about going away to college. On her last day at work, ghosts from the past help her find the courage to reach for her dreams and fly into her wonderful future. Working at a movie theater, which was created during the heyday of vaudeville, was more than a job, it became Shannon's safe haven. It was the only place where she found the sense of peace, security, and acceptance that eluded her in the rest of her life. Repeatedly watching the movies, taught her what did and didn't work on the screen. More than just escapism, the unlimited free access helped her hone her craft as a writer. Becoming the youngest projectionist and assistant manager, she learned how to want more and to realize that she could have more, but only if she was willing to learn and reach for it. Yet she quickly realized that what she wanted and needed lay beyond the walls of her sanctuary. She applied to and was accepted at the university that could give her what she needed; the only catch was that she would have to leave. After all the arrangement had been made, she began to have second thoughts. On her last day, she arrived early to take a last look around, only to be met by those from the past and one she was destined to meet in the future, but only if she dared to leave the nest. |
