So, how about the... wait, I have questions!
This is the only featurette on the DVD of Equilibrium; perhaps it wasn't expected to be a hit, because today(and in 2002), it is common practice to document anything and everything they can during the production of a film, and this stuff mostly winds up on the discs. Anyway, it consists of behind-the-scenes footage, interviews with Wimmer and the four main cast members and clips of the picture(note that most of it is spoiled, albeit nothing is directly described; odd, for such a clearly promotional piece). Yes, ironically, this isn't well-balanced. It jumps swiftly back and forth as if in a constant fit of ADD, maybe to ensure that we don't manage to get bored, and then ends promptly and abruptly, after just under four and a half minutes. Several of the things said are great; philosophy is brought up, Kurt explains that the drug(to sedate people from their emotions, as those are illegal in the movie's world) do not render people as zombies, but cut off the highs and the lows, etc. I just refuse to believe that this was the only usable material they had to put something like this together. While it is true that it is good to leave us wanting more, this stops so soon, and shows so little(for some reason choosing to give away twists), that you barely grow interested if you aren't already. I recommend this to those who want to hear what the five people have to say. Nothing to go out of your way to watch. 6/10
