Comanche Moon (2008)

Goofs

Episode #1.3

Comanche Moon

Edit

Continuity

When Charlie Goodnight bums a bacon biscuit from Gus, he is seen taking a bite of biscuit, camera cuts to Gus briefly, then back to Goodnight who has nothing in his mouth and the biscuit is whole. Again, he starts to take a bite, camera cuts to Gus for a few seconds, then back to Goodnight who no longer has a biscuit at all.
Although the blacksmith is killed in the Comanche raid on Austin, the blacksmith's name painted on the stable is unchanged some seven years later.

Factual errors

Jake hands Newt what he refers to as a "rope". A rope is made from twisted sisal or another plant-based fiber. What he actually hands him is made of braided leather, not plant fiber, which makes this a lariat, not a rope.

Incorrectly regarded as goofs

As depicted in Lonesome Dove, "Maggie's Orchard" is located in the vicinity of San Antonio. Assuming that the location is perhaps twenty miles north of San Antonio (which is indicated in Lonesome Dove), this would make the distance from the center of Austin approximately 55 miles, which makes a buggy ride of perhaps three and a half hours. Maggie tells Gus ahead of time that it would be a long drive, which makes such a drive possible.

Revealing mistakes

August Schellenberg as Idahi, singing his death chant, has fillings.
